Time to see what Fletch can do using cap space as a trade asset. He's got some options to make a menu to chose from:

Elliot for Talbot

or

One of McKenna/Stolarz/Lyon and cap space for Talbot + ?????

I still can't believe that the Av's are never mentioned whenever goalie rumours fire up.....seriously, they are comfortably in a playoff spot if they even would have had mediocre goaltending.

Not that I'm saying I agree, but they paid a hefty-ish price for Grubauer in the offseason so they are probably operating under the assumption that he's their future and giving up even more assets in the present doesn't seem to be Sakic's MO

I'm calling BS. Stolarz and Hart have played very well together as a tandem and there's zero reason to make a trade now for a backup. Those are the two guys going forward. There are much larger issues to tackle than what the strength of the team has been the last month or so

Ek you've had every goalie in the NHL going to the Flyers. 2 bakers dozens at least.

This is an interesting change. Usually the Flyers trade for a goalie shortly
BEFORE their career dies.

If anything it likely means the Avs will trade for a goalie. By Ek not mentioning the Avs pretty much guarantees it.

Like I said, not disagreeing with your sentiment. But it's a business and it'd be tough for Sakic to go to ownership and tell them that he needed to cough up assets again to get a goaltender. That's basically telling them that you didn't do a good job on the first attempt.

The flyers don't need Cam Talbot. We'll give them Andrew MacDonald, sure

Don't doubt what's reported but if Fletcher is making moves like this then he's an idiot. He needs to worry about figuring out how he's going to be his Dmen going forward since we are overflowing with prospects who seem to be ready and finding another elite forward to replace Wayne.

To be making deals in the one area where they are performing well is ridiculous.

* Per sources...things can always change, but as of now at least there are no discussions between the Bruins and Blue Jackets regarding Artemi Panarin...In fact the Bruins aren't even considering Panarin...

If the Flyers are dealing with the Oilers I think they should insist on getting Oscar Klefbom and then make sure he's always on the ice at the same time as Oskar Lindblom, just to mess with announcers.
