One side was close to getting Nylander, the only hold up was which players were involved in the trade?

My Matthews guess. Saving the Coyotes when they sign him to a near 16m a year deal paid in pixie dust?

Or batting pucks out of the air from cross seam passes sand shooting in one motion

Matthews wrist shot from the circle is deadly...puts it right under the crossbar every time and the goalie can do nothing about it. He is equally as deadly with that shot from a one-timer.

Great to have Nylander back.
Matthews in my opinion is one of the best at production 5 v 5 and also his skating for a big man.
He;s lethal. Has the soft mitts and skates and moves almost like Lemieux

Matthews: Can take a puck out of mid air, control it and get a shot off, all at an incredibly high speed.

Silfverberg for Kessel?

I can see the Penguins trading a better preforming player who is under contract at a very good rate (given Toronto eats part of his salary) for someone who's about to become an UFA.

I think the Ducks stick with him unless they get some cheap awesome prospect(s) or great draft-picks. Silfverberg's salary is off the books next year and almost covers the bump in pay that Gibson will be getting. Signing a cheaper backup that Miller and getting a sub-$1million player in Silfverberg's stead will still put them up against the cap. Phil's salary... no way to work it.

The Leafs have 5 million left with the cap with Horton's salary ON the books(All of this after Nylander's signing). They can LTIR him. So Ek is wrong, they can add a D for this season no problem.

Yup, let us Leaf fans enjoy our season because next year, Matthews is gone from offer sheet, Marner is gone from offer sheet, Got to trade Nylander because they can't afford him. Probably got to trade Tavares tooo because they can't afford him. Our top line next year will be Par Lindholm, Connor Brown and Josh Lievo.

Matthews is the best at receiving a pass...he can receive and get a shot off like no one's business.
