The THE 2018-19 Trade RUMOR CHART Is LIVE and today I have already updated several players today.

New and exciting...CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW ME ON Facebook. and get bonus content plus rumor chart sneak peaks daily! Today's Sneak Peek is Wayne Simmonds.

Nylander Fallout...

William Nylander has signed and while we can debate until we are blue (and white) in the face as to "what side caved?" and whatnot, it is great to have a player like Nylander back in the game this season.. So now... Teams who were serious about him have to find their extra scoring elsewhere...Minnesota and LA were the two teams who I believe came closest to getting a deal done. In one situation the contract couldn't be worked out and in the other the players.. The Leafs are now in a real pickle though.. By signing and keeping Nylander they don't address their wild imbalance and still need to go an get a d-man...

On Auston Matthews...

Not a rumor here, just a note... I have seen many superstars come and go in the NHL since I started covering the game, but there is one skill that Auston Matthews may be the BEST EVER to play the game....make a guess in the comments and the first person to get it will get something Matthews related...

On Jakob Silfverberg...

One of the most under-publicized available players out there is Jakob Silfverberg... Silfverberg is going to be perhaps the belle of the ball at this year's deadline, and a few teams are already talking to Anaheim...Florida LOVES this kid, Montreal has held several closed door discussions regarding Jake, and don't count out Rutherford in Pittsburgh.. Could a Kessel/Silfverberg swap happen?

On Simmonds fate...

Wayne Simmonds is a HUGE leader in the Flyers lockerroom and Hextall wasn't the biggest fan of Wayne's... It will be very interesting to see how Simmonds fate shifts when the new GM is chosen in Philly...

On the Flyers GM...

It looks like it will come down to Chuck Fletcher or Bill Zito...

Both are qualified and could be successful in Philly.

Fletcher is a little more Hextall like...He is more patient, conservative, doesn't love the media and the safer choice. That is why many here in Philly felt Homer would go to him. Holmgren is being characterized as "old school" and Fletcher is a very safe selection...from Homer's circle.

However, Flyers fans shouldn't sell Homer short quite yet. Because Zito is in this as well...In Zito, who the Flyers reportedly interviewed yesterday, Holmgren is talking to a highly progressive, and aggressive GM who is known for his ability to get players going, organizations excited and who can get very creative and modern with solutions. Zito is in a way reminiscent of Ed Snider's feeling that EVERYTHING is possible and must be tried. The fans need to know we are going to do everything by hook or by crook to win...
