Things not getting better for Ottawa... Stone filed for arbitration. If he gets 1 year, that probably makes him UFA next year. |

Per Capfriendly no signing or performance bonuses. It is a one way contract. - Queenie_5_hole
I'd sign him for that or maybe even a bit more for his speed alone. Damn. Then again, if the worst team ever didnt want him back, there must be something wrong. |

Karlsson has a bad ankle and all.. but something tells me Ottawa is going to get owned. It's truly incredible how they've managed to destroy themselves. |

For all the talk of the NYR possibly being the 3rd team in the OTT/TB potential trade, I'm told the Devils have also been in the mix and may possibly be the 3rd team when all is said and done. Not set in stone, but NJ has been involved in these talks.

Tampa's cap situation is interesting.. http://www.hockeybuzz.com...-central/team.php?team=TB
I wonder who they're trying to unload. Killorn, Johnson, Palat, .. none of them excite me, especially for the price and term. Even J.T. Miller is pricey for what you get.
I'd piss my pants if we were able to get and sign RFA to be Kucherov.
Hall-Nico-Kucherov would be wicked. But lets be real.. they're not unloading a 100-pt winger lol.
Sergachev would be nice, but idk if they'll want to move him.. being that he makes under 900k for the next 2 seasons. Sergachev AND Johnson I'd be happy with. |

Sergachev will almost certainly be headed to Ottawa if he's part of the deal. Whoever the third team is will probably just take on a contract(Johnson, Killorn, or Callahan) and get a 2nd/3rd round pick as well most likely. Atleast that's how i see it playing out. I'd definitely take Johnson though, right handed shot and would be a nice fit on the second line either as center or right wing |

The third team involved is there to eat cap space for the Sens in return for draft picks. Sens don't want to spend any money but need roster players to meet the floor. Palat, Killorn, and Johnson are signed long term and it would be helpful for them to move them out, but they really need a team to eat Callahan's contract because he's terrible and signed next year when Kucherov needs to be resigned.
Devils/Rangers are involved to get draft picks and retain salary on contracts. I don't see either team coming away with good roster players at all. |

anyone else feel like we're worse than last year? Greene, Lovejoy, Zajac, Boyle will all be slower and worse.. and it's not like they won't get ice time. We're banking on Zacha, Severson, Butcher, and the kids to all take steps forward.
top 10 pick, a year late.. but here we come anyways! - MartysBetter88

If NJ are part of the deal, it'll probably be that the Lightning send a conditional 1st and 3rd to us, we take Ryan's contract, then the Lightning send Sergachev and two more prospects/young players (Foote? Raddysh?) and a salary dump (of their 3-5 D pending UFAs) over to the Senators.
The conditional first would be in 2020 if the Lightning win the Cup next year since the 2019 would belong to the Rangers in that case.
That's how I might structure that deal... I don't know what the Sens want from the Lightning outside of Sergachev, though, unless they're gunning for Point.
The other possible scenario is if the Lightning send us picks to take on one of their bad contracts (Ryan Callahan?) but he has a no trade clause and might nip it. |

This is going to by like the Datsyuk deal with Detroit. Tampa and Ottawa will work the phones to find which team will take on the most salary for the least return to solve their problems. Last time it was Arizona who decided to take in the shorts like a champ.
