Husso just isn’t that good.

Team is definitely different. Previously they would have let that BS stick throw demoralize them and would have lost 6-2. It’s early in the season but still nice to come out of a game with at least a point.

Good come back by the Wings to force OT. This team definitely has fight in them and the will to win!
Now let Reimer play the next game.

Look, from the puck-drop, DET was off their game. They were disjointed big time. Passing was off, defense wasn't anticipating correctly, zone entry was abhorrent....it was a BAD game. Then.........."The Stickening", and everything changed. The guys played like games 2-6. Honestly, with all of the hype, I told my wife this one was gonna be bad for the Wings. They just didn't answer the bell. If this happens more often, we're gonna be a laughing stock.

Husso's decent. At best. THe D in front of him are good, actually. Holl....again, tentative sword-falling time here.....looks pretty good. He's doing a lot of things the right way. Would Petry have made a difference? I think so and here's why: Thus far this season, he's been clogging passing lanes like it's his job (I KNOW IT IS!!). He takes it personally. That was missing last night.

What more could you ask of a G that's decent? Husso's going to be a .880-.895 guy, we have to accept that. Until we get someone like Vasi, we're going to struggle. I want to see Lyon play. He may snag a conditioning stint in GR, I want to see him play. We have 3 G that are decent. We have a (for now) potent offense, cycle the 3 around to see who's worth a crap. Until the G situation is figured out, we're going to have D-men who are straight up exhausted every game. I think going back to 12-6 may not be the answer right now.

Tonight just wasn't good. Is what it is. We KNOW there are some glaring holes in this line-up. PP is unsustainable, D-men are pretty good, The Cat is breathing new life into a previously embarrassing O. Zone entries last night were off.....we can blame everything except Mikey blowing the horn to start the game. I want to see how they come back. Ghost....just WOW, that kid's got IT. I want to see how he handles the season, but if he stays as potent as he is right now, give him 2 more years. Holl's showing there's something else to him, Petry's a solid back-end defender, Mo Sides....can we talk about him? He's off this year, seems just a step behind a lot of the time, something seems off. Not saying he sucks, so don't blow me up, guys. Just something there that looks a tick off. Get him back to the Mo of yester-year and I'm actually VERY happy with our D......not that my opinion means Jack.

Glad for the point, SOLID PP. Let's see what the next game gives us.

ALWAYS a die-hard DRW fan..........

The refs were terrible in his game. It's Jake Brenk and Mitch Dunning. They're not good referees. One has never worked a playoff game and the other has worked nine in nine years.
However, Detroit was somewhat discombobulated throughout this game, except for the 3rd. Good comeback to get 1 pt, but they need to hold the lead once they get it. The Krack have a great fore check that the Wings could not overcome.

Totally fair to say about Husso..... he looks nervous at times...or like a backup not capable when needed to make 1 save... give Lyon a go and see what you have, I can't help but cringe as shots go to the net... just not sold on Husso...

Lyon should get the next game. He looked really good in preseason and deserves a chance.

I'm all for letting Lyon get a couple of consecutive games in. Husso was not sharp tonight and seemed a little shaky. Kind of flailing around and fighting the puck. Let's see what Lyon can do. Yzerman signed him as insurance to avoid the debacle that happened last year when Husso got injured... may as well see what he has to offer. If he plays great and beats out Reimer for the backup job the Wings are better off for it. Healthy competition is a good thing.

Reimer has been really good. Husso has been a tad below average. No way I’m playing a journeyman AHL goalie that hasn’t seen live game action since the preseason.

Alex Lyon is a 30-year-old goaltender with 39 total NHL games played. His NHL numbers are replacement level. There's nothing exceptional about his AHL resume either -- he's proven to be a reliable middle-of-the-road starter at that level, but not really anything more. In other words, I don't think it's an accident that he's bounced between being an NHL No. 3 and AHL starter his entire career.

I don't think Husso is a particularly good NHL goaltender either but it's hard for me to imagine that Lyon is going to be an upgrade. At best they're interchangeable, and that's giving Lyon a lot of credit he probably doesn't deserve and giving Husso no benefit of any doubt.

To me Reimer is the wild card. Two solid starts this year and pretty decent NHL resume overall, but also 35 years old. What does he have left at this stage of his career? Even if he's a league-average NHL goalie right now, that would probably still put him above Husso.

Glad to get a point out of the game, i'm one of the last people to whine about the refs but last night was something special from them. The late penalty where Sprong bumped hips with a guy near the boards for a penalty was ridiculous also.

Ghost is just an animal, what a brilliant add so far. He meshed immediately and is putting up an unexpected amount of points.

Not Husso's best game, but he's kept us in a couple already with strong play, just needs more consistency. He seems to be a bit more into his mid to late season play of last year than a hot start.

I don't see any danger in letting Lyon play a game or two and see how he does. Why even have him on the roster if you're not ever going to give him some playing time? It might at least increase his trade value if you want to trade him later. If he was good enough to protect from being claimed from waivers I'd say he deserves a chance. He's also 5 years younger than Reimer... let their play decide who gets the backup role.

I feel like some of y’all are over analyzing this game. Yeah, they were off. It’s why on some nights the worst team can beat the best team. Seeing all these comments to fix this and fix that. That’s like a golfer at the range adjusting after every ball. You hit a thousand balls, then you make an adjustment. Then you hit a thousand more and make another adjustment. If you make them after every swing, you’ll be a mess. They’ve been great so far and they had an off night against a playoff team, and they still should have won. They won 5 in a row, were you expecting 81 and 1? Relax.
