It's against the rules. Any prospect that is part of a college program cannot participate in an NHL rookie camp.

There are no NCAA players in any NHL camps. It's against NCAA rules to attend a camp during a college semester

Rex!!

Another one of those players who has been great for us but had a bad rap with the fans. Frankly, I don’t care if Recchi was the one and only reason (which I doubt) for Bill Barber getting fired. Primeau as captain publicly disapproved of Barbar. Barbar didn’t have much if any career beyond his stint in Philly (might have coached in Tampa when they were bad) but we ended up with Hitch, who was way better!

I’m torn. Recchi was favorite player. Do I go or stay away. Haven’t been to a game in a few years out of principle.

A small segment of the fanbase felt like he backstabbed Barber when the team revolted against him. I personally never felt that way.

I thought it was because he won cups everywhere but in Philly.

That would be a much more "Philly" reason to hate him.

I think Barber as a coach has the lowest scoring rate in a playoff series ever in flyers history.

What a difference between how Sweden actually listens to their players and puts their welfare first compared to how the Soviet Union part 2 treats them like commodities.

Barber, who was dealing with the death of his wife, probably should have took a leave of absence. But the players also did him no favors by speaking out publicly. It was an ugly situation all around.

Honestly, it capped off a 5 year period from 97-2002 that, while the hockey wasn’t as bad as recent years, the off ice dramas were a never ending ugly soap opera.

Yes those years had drama and bs however I never missed a game back then. The teams were fun to watch the pressers were fun there were some great teams. Though no cups those were some great teams to watch

A time when the Flyers made the same mistakes that they do now, but at least back then it was easier to fix using money because there was no cap.

Absolutely. Never used to miss a game. I really miss those days when we were a perennial playoff team and contender. How far we’ve fallen since 2012.
