Quick Hits: September 14, 2023
1) Rookie Camp got underway at the FTC in Voorhees today. All attendees with the exception of JR Avon (who had not yet completed his physical testing) were on the ice. Beforehand, the attendees at the Flyers NHL camp held a practice session with no coaches on the ice.
2) Emil Andrae confirmed reports that HV71 Jönköping gave him formal permission to play in the AHL with the Phantoms in 2023-24 if the young defenseman does not make the NHL roster with the Flyers. HV71 did not have to do so, under the terms of the revised NHL/SHF transfer agreement (since Andrae was not a first-round NHL Draft pick). However, the player expressed that playing the whole season in North America, whether in Allentown or Philadelphia, was his preference and HV71 did not want to stand in the way of whatever Andrae feels is best for his development this season.
3)The Flyers will have a morning skate in Voorhees on Friday ahead of tomorrow's night's Rookie Game against the New York Rangers at the PPL Center in Allentown. The morning skate will feature the starting lineup in rushes.
