Absolutely, bring him in and then go from there and see what the needs are. He would be the instant fill in for Jake missing there first 5 or more games. |

I think we are trying, already. I could see him landing somewhere else then folks get mad that ‘we didn’t try to bring him in’, when he had already said the pens reached out. |

Tonya Harding on a PTO could help free up Carter’s $3 mil. |

Doobs did a hell of a job eradicating hextall’s mistakes.. but now we need to see if his bottom six and defence are actually better though. |

Rather get Nick Ritchie. Dude can throw em like the 80’s. Tartar isn’t a bad hockey player but if we’re not winning cups I’d rather get some sort of a nut sack under Sid and company. |

That's true, my affiliations have been with the best universities in the world, none of which play D1 semi-pro sports.
Everyone I know though that is into NCAA sports was into them before going to university themselves. Many of them went to PSU I'm sure because of the football team. - MickV

Sid has plenty of nut sack. Doesn’t need your wussy ass to worry about who’s going to fight for him. |

It’s definitely better. However I don’t have any trust that Sullivan knows what to do with it. |

I keep seeing multiple news/speculation outlets pitching this Tomas Tatar signing. Don't get me wrong, I would love for this to happen as it would improve the Penguins' depth scoring. That being said, I have not seen a single person pitch a reasonable way for this to happen...
With only a 21-man roster and Rem Pitlick not on the team, the Penguins only have $220,658 of cap space. Where are they supposed to find the money for additional signings?
Forwards: Their top-6 is not going to be changed (maybe Brian Rust but that seems unlikely unless he has another down year). The only players in their bottom-6 are making league minimum or are new acquisitions. The only exception to this is Jeff Carter who has a full NMC.
Defensemen: Again, their top-4 is not going to be changed. The bottom pairing players are earning league minimum.
Goalies: They just resigned Tristan Jarry and are not going to move him (unless he performs poorly again this season). Alex Nedeljkovic is earning $1,500,000 but they just signed him so won't send him away.
I should also point out that this whole discussion started because Tatar was quoted stating his team had talked to the Penguins. When??? July 1st??? Sometime before the Karlsson trade??? There has been no sources saying these conversations are still ongoing.
It would be nice to have Tatar but I don't see how the Penguins make that happen. I see him getting at least a $1,500,000 contract from another team. If somebody reads this and has a reasonable path to acquire him while staying cap compliant, I'd love to hear it.
Cheers All!!! |

You know, since your first post here was about trading all our bad players for all their good players I felt we were kindred spirits. But if you’re about to tell me you went to Stanford we can’t be friends. |

They have $221k of cap space with a 22-man roster, not 21. Still, the best path forward is the Carter equipment allergy scenario.

I think you need to double check that. Pretty sure it's only 21...

Lol. Amazes me how many people just look at the total bub a cap site and that's it. |

Ah, gotcha. Good catch. I can't see the whole equipment allergy thing working today. Ever since the Tampa Bay farce a few years ago, the league has been cracking down a bit more. |

This was actually who I was hoping for. Younger, tough, can score. Him and acciari would be an annoying line to play against. But he lasted a whole half a season in Toronto not too long ago so I highly doubt Dubas has any interest |

I guess he's never been around for the amount of times we explained it could work 😂, doesn't mean it will happen but it's technically possible. |
