TSN 690 is suggesting Larry Robinson but at 71, I’m not sure Robinson would be up to the challenge…time to give Andrei Markov a call perhaps? He was a great puck-mover and rarely took bad decisions on the ice…
Markov definitely has the knowledge to do a good job, but wouldn't he be lacking a bit of charisma and/or clarity if he isn't speaking Russian? |

Wait...callers, or the anchors?
Also, about Markov...the guy barely speaks, I don't see him as a good communicator.
At least not in English. |

probably both lol... they're surely reminiscing about how Robinson was ignored by the habs a few years back before he joined the sharks, and now they want to give him the chance, but I think that ship has sailed.

100% agreed, nothing against the guy, but for an NHL coaching job, I just don't see it.

When Bergevin was fired and we were waiting on them to choose a new GM, I heard a caller who wanted Ken Dryden.
Ken Dryden last worked for a hockey team in 2004
He is 74 years old.
Some people need to let go. |

I think a lot of folks assume that because they're part of the habs' legends that they'd automatically do a good managing or coaching job and bring the team to victory. |

I think it's time for Sergei Fedorov and his pulling the goalie in overtime chaos. |

As for Robinson, I think it would be a good idea to bring him in and work with the kids on D, not necessarily as a full time member of the coaching staff.
Maybe be an advisor to MSL and work in player development/front office.
His experience as a coach and working with defensemen would be a huge benefit to a rebuilding club with a rookie coach. |

considering his age this could be an option, but they'll still need to bring in someone full-time.
