When guys like Nylander and Marner were UFAs many (including here) were convinced they'd be traded. I was correct all along. As a contender you just hold them as an "own" rental. You give yourself more time to either sign them (ie Nylander) and if they walk you get cap space to retool (Marner). Now you are saying Minny will do the same? Not sure they are really a true contender, so selling him as a deadline rental might make sense. Certainly more sense than trading away Nylander or Marner.
