Well, if true, that may have just lowered the Blue Jackets’ asking price.
Can’t blame him. Someone will overpay. |

If he wants to go to Colorado, will he be cool with being a second pairing defenseman and getting compensated as such?
He’s not wrestling away the top spot from Makar. |

Won't be long before Ek has Montreal being the preferred team. |

Teams are willing to give up first rounders and good prospects at the deadline for rentals, so I’m not sure how I see this changing things much now. |
|
|
|
With what money? Landeskog and Makar are about to make 7 mil and MacKinnon needs to get paid in 2 years, and we're talking at least 11 mil. |

If the Avs are getting Jones In the end they will most definitely lose one or two players one way or the other In the next year. |
|
|
|
Colorado surely doesn't need Jones, Sakic should know that, Colorado's blueline Is set for awhile If you ask me. |

Much like Hall tied Buffalo's hands at the deadline when he only wanted to go to the Bruins. Sabres had #1 draft choices on the table but Hall would not waive his NMC to go there. |

They are, but I think a pick might come off of the table, and one of the prospects might go from A Tier to B/B+ |

What's the one small factor that could change the entire playoffs?? I'm still waiting for the answer since before round 1. |

This league needs to rid themselves of the NMC. I dont buy this "I want security" crap. Youre getting your money, suck it up. Plus, if a player has a NMC and asks to be traded "officially", then his NMC should be void. Players need to stop thinking they are the ones running the prison. |

I am done with this league. Shame on the NHL for allowing this farce to continue. |

way to tie up Jarmo's hands , knowing this, might as well just ride him out and pray this doesn't turn into Dubois 2.0 - Alexzanki
Ride him out and go for Panarin 2.0?
Cut bait and make the best deal you can before the draft!

Ek read that old story about Popeye Jones meeting Sakic in Colorado and telling him his kids wanted to play hockey and is now trying to make his first correct guess.

Ek's sources must be accurate. AVS don't even need Seth Jones. But since his Dad once played 40 games in Denver then Seth must really want to play for the AVS. Seth was born in Texas so I'll say he gets traded to Dallas and signs a long term deal with them. I'll notify my sources. You won't hear this publically. Offer sheet Armageddon and RFA wars are fast approaching kids! Bedlam! |

Totally agree about getting rid of NMC's.
Besides after 10 years of service players have the right to become UFA's. If they structure their contact(s) terms after their ELC's properly, at 28 that's when they can dictate where they want to play.
That's very fair parameters for both Owners and Players to work with.
They don't need NMC's and it's time for them to go.

Makar is getting 10 + and Nate the Great is going to be in the 14 yr range...
Landy is the one you trade or let walk or whatever .. never, ever pay wingers big money unless they are game changing players... Ovi and that's pretty much it... I don't know why teams continue to make the mistake of paying wingers big money.
