Talking to two teams today who were/are willing to move large amounts of assets to for Columbus if they knew they could extend Seth Jones and there is some disappointment there...The teams are saying they are not getting the impression that Jones is willing to extend beyond this season and he "very much wants to go to the Market next July 1."
This generally means the player, Jones in this case, has a team in mind that he wants to go to.
That team is highly speculated to be Colorado..
If this news follows suit with other teams it will put Columbus in a very tough spot. If that team is Colorado, Joe Sakic may just let the season play out and get Jones without losing assets...
I will continue to monitor this, but this news could really change the course of everything this summer...
