Taylor Hall has as many or more points than 6 of the 9 players on that list and has been explosive lately (despite how terrible his team is) and he somehow doesn't even get a mention?

I know the oilers suck but come on...

While Giroux has made a case hasn't St. Louis made more of one? How people don't have him on this team blows my mind. When people bring up age and how we need young guys to get experience... Why? In four years if those young guys that you want to get experience this time deserve to make the team... They'll be on it! Give the guy his due.

He does deserve more of a mention. Totally agree. A spectacular player.

St. Louis - Crosby - Stamkos
Tavares - Toews - Giroux
Duchene - Getzlaf - Perry
Carter - Bergeron - Thornton

Extras: Eric Staal and Couture

Ek, of the current teams in the east and west that are in playoff spots who do you think drops out? And who steps up?

It would be a shame to leave off MSL off this team, look at what he's done without Stammer he's still scoring at ppg clip. Also I'm suprised Nash hasn't been mentioned here. Big ice surface could put Perry more on the bubble due to his speed, insert Nash in his spot.

Wow completelyyyyyt forgot Nash. I'd say insert him in where I have Carter and remove Staal as my extra and Put Carter there. Nash can move up and down the line up. He'll be in for sure

Girioux is not a bottom 6 type of player. Not on the team. I know you want him to Ek but not a fit.

Taylor hall deserves a mention, his speed alone is a game changer. Come on Eklund update that blog with his name. His ppg is higher then most of those guys, can u imagine if he actually had a defense that could get him the puck.

No one on the team Canada roster is a " bottom 6 type of player ". Players adapt.. Thornton did it before. I'm sure Giroux could

Better get mentally tough guy's, The U.S team has no fear of the Canadians like maybe others. Sweden is the team to beat, never enough respect given to them

I disagree. Playing on the RW with either Toews or Bergeron he's got a solid two-way game and is a guy that can sub in at C and still be effective on the dot (51.4%).

Giroux is a lock IMO. He was before the season and then he started really slow. He's performing at his normal rate again and will be in the top 6. Much more of a lock than Duschene who went the other direction.

Hall should be there as well.

I was going to talk about Hall as well. Might be the most dynamic skater in the NHL so we can translate on an international rink. He will be there, i hope...

From that group you put up there I'd only take Thornton, Couture and Carter out.

Insert Kunitz, Benn and Sharp (or Hall) and you'll have a more balanced lineup.

Surprised you put Stamkos as a lock.
If he is healthy I agree... but skating in circles a few times on a leg that was broken not long ago... I'd put him on the bubble more so than as a lock...

either way canada is an allstar team...

st. louis crosby stamkos
tavares toews perry
sharp getzlaf giroux
kunitz bergeron thornton

duchene, benn are the extras.

doesnt matter the offense the biggest question will be in goal again.

I'm sure you are a very proud person but I would be pretty worried with that U.S lineup they just announced. Do you seriously think it will be easier to score goals on the big ice or try and stop them? To me this tourny could be more about who can score the most goals and not who can play a grinders game on an ice rink that wasn't meant for that style of hockey. Not saying Canada will be able to outscore everyone but I like their chances a hell of a lot more then the Americans.
