I wondered that as well.
I was listening to the Burke presser and was just laughing when he was talking about how he doesn't like positive coaches and that he perfers guys that bring a negative reinforcement approach to teaching. He prefers his coaches to be negatively teaching a player instead of telling another who had a great shift that it was a great shift.
And he wonders why all the Leafs young players have shown zero development. If Luke Schenn goes out and blocks 4 shots, hits 3 guys and saves a sure goal. Instead of being applauded Burkes type of coach would instead yell at him or someone else. It's no wonder that the players tuned out Wilson.
But I know one thing that means. That Bylsma wouldn't be a "Burke" coach, he wants his players to learn and improve, instead of being afraid of screwing up. |

Go Ducks! Err, I mean Pens!
I am very glad I am not a Toronto fan. Those poor people have some of the worst leadership in any hockey organization. Pretty sad actually.
I do treasure life John, everyday! AND it is so sunny and beautiful today I am going to take a hike around Rocky Gap lake! The Pens PP will have major adjustment issues without Sully and Tanger. Love the idea of calling up Despres, I am a fan and he brings some of what Tanger gives the team. If they are both out need to play conserative road game, IMO.
Lets go Pens!!!! Get er' done! |

Thanks all for Beauchemin heads up! It's the default photo -- imagine that!
Regarding the Maple Leafs. Toronto has some of the biggest hockey fans anywhere. It's a shame that they haven't won a Cup since I was two years old (I won't say the actual year for their sake).

If this is true then I'm surprised Michael Therrien didn't get a call. He could tell Kadri, Schenn, and Bozak they're sof.

According to Pens website Sullvan said the two days off was exactly what he needed and he will play tonight. Good news. |

i wouldnt be against having him be a healthy scratch in the last game or two of the regular season depending where we stand in the playoff picture |

Will be tough. I imagine the last 2 games (both against Flyers) could determine home ice. |

quite a possibility there. it sucks that the pens have philly right before the playoffs. its going to be a rough last game of the season, but if they grab a win it could be a huge momentum boost going into the playoffs.
on another note, its going to be fun watching the young avs team play |

Should be a hell of a game if the Avs show up. We laid an egg vs CBJ so the team will be looking to respond to the embarrassment.
I am a fan of both teams actually, but the Avs first. (I seen Mario play live for my first ever NHL game.) The Malkin Winter Classic jersey will stay in the closet for this one though. Something tells me it's going to be one hell of a physical game. |

Yeah I loved the Pens back in the day.. Watching Mario Lemieux was amazing and even during the "hate Jager" days they were frustrating at times but fun to watch.
Pens vs Avs is usually a good game. Not like the snooze fest the Wild give us. (Two of those in row coming up.. blah.) |

For teams I wouldn't consider as being real physical this Toronto Montreal game has some hitting going on. Great pace to it. |
