If you could read it was Pavelski. SJ isnt dealing Couture for Nash. Not even straight up. - poisondhearts37
If they deal Pavelsky who plays behind Thorton, might as well trade a winger for a winger. |

Bernier would be good but hes a small goalie francois allaire likes big goalies that go down early, small goalies going down early equals more snipes over the shoulder. But either way i think Bernier and Lindback are both great goalies i would be happy to grab either of them. I can see Burke wanting a tough top 6 forward before the deadline too, Colin Wilson could be dealt with Lindback and Brown with Bernier? But we would have to give up a fair amount. Jeff Carter would be nice, dont know how long he would play on the first line... I see him as being a great secondary scorer for the leafs on our second line. |

Some fans need to chirp about other teams to feel better about their own.
It's a pretty common occurrence. - Juice
haha i know all about it. been reading here for years. Really doesnt bother me, ive been coast to coast and know how every city feels about Toronto and the Leafs.. Even when leafs are contenders theyll find something else to hate about haha. I wish they would take the Razor Ramon approach and embrace the bad guy identity, the way Burke claimed he wanted to build his team but then got soft smaller guys.
When Domi, Tucker Roberts + were on Leafs, people can say what they want but teams did not look forward to coming to ACC.
Thats why on my deadline wishlist i have guys like Ott. If theyre gonna hate us, lets make it worth it

Im not sure what its worth but heres a quote from an article by CBJ beat writer portzline.....
And, down the hall from the dressing room, the "press conference" room is being rearranged to handle a large crowd, such as one a big trade might draw.

Brown is exactly the forward we need. He's like a Richards-lite. hits, mucks it up and chips in the occasional point. |

Oh crap, I thought you said "Toews AND Sharp....to me it was a no brainer.
Perhaps keep Karlsson then....a dman that produces like a forward it HUGE.
I always try to look at it this way...if a dman is scoring 60 points, that's worth a forward that tops 90+.
It's easier to pick up hot forwards then it is to find a high scoring dman. - Juice
I have a similar approach to Juice in that I try to follow a "2/3rds rule," meaning that when comparing values of forwards vs. d-men, pointswise the d-man should accumulate 2/3rds of the forward's production.
For example:
90 point forward = 60 point d-man
75 point forward = 50 point d-man
60 point forward = 40 point d-man
It obviously depends on your pool's format, if certain positions are valued more than others, supply & demand etc. It's not perfect, but I find usually find that it's a solid starting point to provide a ballpark value. |

I'm with you on that.
He gets into suspension trouble once in a while...but he plays hard and changes the way the opposing team skates out there. I'm 100% ok with that. |

First, Carter to Toronto is almost a foregone conclusion. Next post just an hour or two later, Carter to L.A. is closer to being done than any other deal right now.

Bingo!!
And a top goaltender is even more valuable. In my pool we only have two slots for goaltenders and 16 slots for forwards/dmen.
So, to me that means 1 great goalie takes care of 50% of my goalie stats, whereas 1 great forward takes care of something like 6.5% of my offensive stats.
Thus an awesome goalie is worth more then an awesome forward. |
