What about Carter on the Hawks? I know he has a very long crazy deal but if they can get the money to work? |

would you personally do Kane for Miller plus if you were GM? - nastyflyergirl
Not straight up, I don't think. I am not as high on Kane a some, not as down on Miller as some.
But I think it makes more sense as Kane + for Miller + (depending on what those +'s are form each side).
I also think the Hawks should be able to get a legitimate 2nd center (a good one) AND a top 4 defenseman (a good one) for Kane. |

You are right on Purcell, my sources have told me that, they also like nate thompson and have liked brett Clark in the past.
Be careful of ESPN Radio Chicago, a source there I was told hatched the Huet/Versteeg for Vokoun "done deal" rumor a couple of years ago. Not sure how much there was in the end to that, I think a discussion but not the done deal I was told back then. |

I love Kane as a player and would love to see him on the Sabres. But there is NO CHANCE i would trade Miller even in a package. |

I remember that "DONE DEAL"as well, lets hope they finally get something done on trade front. would love to see Kubina and Purcel and the Hawks have the horses to make this deal happen. |

I think Kubina is the type of dman the Hawks could use and Zidlicky is too expensive. |

Wanted Kubina 2 years ago when he was with ATL... I guess it worked by not getting him...
Purcell would be a nice aquisition. |

All of Kane's perceived problems/issues aside, straight up trade of Kane for Miller is not a good trade. And I am not one of his biggest fans. Let's just say that Miller has a lot of good hockey left in him--Kane is still only 23 (?). For a team that is so conscious of public perception, that sort of a trade has way more potential to haunt the Blackhawks (and their image) for a long time. If that happened, the story would go from Hull thru JR, Belfour, Amonte, Chelios, the post-Cup purge, and then include Kane.
I don't see it happening.
Yes on Dorsett and Kubina. |

I like Miller but goalies are a dime a dozen. Scorers are not. Kane is a knucklehead but I'd still make this trade every day of the week. We'd have to give up more than Miller to get Kane.

I don't think Columbus trades Carter all that easily--that contract might be worse than Campbell's was. Campbell is still a very good and productive player. Not sure you can regard Carter similarly. |

Perhaps but I think you get a nice package right there.....Roy was made for a 2nd line position. Say what you want about him this year but its just a product of uninspiring play from our whole team.
Miller. Well you get Ryan Miller. He's clutch playoff time. Only reason we made it to seven games last year with Philly....and still has years of play left in him.
Leopold is a solid top 4 guy who is humming along this season even with the team tanking. One of our more reliable guys the past few years.
I dunno |

I could see the Hawks doing a smaller deal for him and/or Tyutin. Either or both would help them.

The issue with Carter is not talent. It's attitude. The guy can still be a premier power forward and put up 30-35 goals, win faceoffs, play in all situations. The issue is between the ears, as they say. |

Fair enough--I think we agree. So he scores 30 goals or so, at what price, literally and figuratively to a team? |
