I understand the glass half full outlook is for self preservation.
It's been 12-13 years of horseshit hockey and horseshit management. In its entirety as a sports franchise for 55 years there have been 2 successful runs. Two.
After watching the playoffs, this team is so far away from being a team that can go deep in the post season and Marco Rossi nor Jack Roslovic are not going to change that. Jay Beagle might.

I liked Jay, remember he was a 200’ player, those were good times.
I agree the team sucks, and has for many years, but I will still be positive because 99% of everyone else is negative, so I get to be controversial by being different and non conforming. |

I respect your going against the grain stance.

Really not sure why there is this constant desire to trash every thing about the Canucks. The list posted by lefty is pure bullpoop, and you guys eat this poop quicker than a junky looking to get high.
At the end of Jan of this year, the Canucks were ranked 17th by Hockey Writers and now 6 months later they are somehow 31st. (frank) me you guys are more gullible than Toronto fans thinking they will win the cup this year - Makita
I don't have a constant desire to trash the Canucks, I just found that this morning while surfing the world wide web and found it interesting. So I posted it before I went out and tortured myself in the heat and humidity on the golf course. So gross!!
All that said, the reality is, for as mediocre as the Canucks have finished in the past six seasons, they had one tremendous year, they don't have a lot to show for it in terms of prospects. And that's correctly reflected in their rankings. Realistically they're probably in that mid 20's range, which still isn't good.
The past six drafts they've only had three 1st round picks, and two 2nd round picks. They have to start putting more emphasis on the draft, they won't find success unless they do, in my opinion. Center depth within the organization, beyond EP40, is almost nonexistent. Really like the Cootes pick though, and I expect good things from that Willander kid. |

Yeah, Canuck hockey and the whole organization can't hold my attention, and you're right, this years playoffs showed a different level of hockey that this team can't play. I expect this years team to be very defensive minded and boring to watch. As for ownership, this family is at some Trumpian level of narcissism. |

Can’t disagree with the Draft and Destroy concept , and I hope they continue to build through the draft. I liked the Cootes selection, I’m not a fan of all the trade speculation where the Canucks add Willander or Lekkermaki to entice better quality players in trades, embrace sucking for a couple more years and as you say get better draft rankings. But if by chance the Canucks do well during the season it will change management’s decisions for sure. |

I’m gearing up to return there in September, hopefully the hurricanes stay away during my time there. But yes the climate and waters for the most part is better. |

I don't think they're far off from a playoff team. A lot of "ifs" in their upcoming season right now. You can still be mindful of the draft and make the playoffs though, they are not mutually exclusive. |

Technically speaking I do move on, but hey you be you and continually live in a negative environment, complain away, just expect to hear about it, don’t like that, think that everyone should adopt and embrace the negativity, bond as brothers in constant female doging
And really do you think “they” care about your input, personally I don’t think so. - Makita
Oh I 100% know that 'they' (management) don't care about what you, I or anyone else says on a dying website, let alone something reputable or a newspaper.
I just mean at the end of the day we're all just critiquing the team we've been cursed to cheer for. There's been a fair amount of unpopular moves of late, thus the negativity. I can't really recall the last time the fanbase was really collectively excited about an addition. MPetey felt kinda low key and cost picks that some were excited about, same goes for Hronek. Maybe Boeser is the most feel good thing in awhile, and I think a lot are on the fence about that one and what it means the canucks can't do now salary cap wise. I personally like the Boeser story cause he's scored some big goals, but am I being too emotional? I wanted to keep Tanev simply b/c of that toothless smile when he scored that series clinching goal in the bubble. I wanted to keep Toffoli cause of signs of chemistry. I wanted to keep Joshua b/c of chemistry from not too long ago with Garly & Boogs. |

On a positive note, I haven't watched Blue Jays game in probably four years but they were on TV last night here in the U.S. against the Yankees. I hope they get into the playoffs and have success. I'll be cheering for them, even though I'm not a big fan. |

Hmm 82', 94' , 2011' is 3 cup finals and 2 were game 7's , so it's 3 good runs

Always good to be positive, otherwise you become grumpy old men like Makita and Nightie.
Also, it is going to be a very nice draft, too bad for Canucks fans you won't be picking until the 3rd round |
