You can’t just dump players without getting returns and then turn around and use whatever draft capital u have left (there’s not much). He’s mortgaged the future for a team that failed to even make the playoffs.

If Kreider was strictly a cap dump, he should’ve just kept him on the 3rd line as a PK/PP specialist. I think part of the reason Kreider was traded is bc Drury created such a divide that couldn’t be repaired that both parties decided to just move on.

Imagine if we ACQUIRED Kreider as a cap dump?? We’d be ecstatic. Instead we’re thrilled we got rid of a guy that just scored 52 36 39 22 goals his last 4 seasons (hurt for the 22 goal season) for absolutely nothing???? Make it make sense.
