that year sucked.
did not draft a RHD I wanted in that spot.

Amirov was tragic in every possible sense of the word.

RIP.

I was hoping for Guhle, Schneider, or even Mercer. though I didn't know much about Amirov at the time.

or let him use their great power for the future.
What players to draft, to bring in and how to pay them their $$$ they want.

I'm not saying the Leafs should be hitting every single pick as a home run, however, the Leafs had ample opportunities to draft more of these players...

The absolute best case scenario could look like this...

2014 - Nylander (or Pasta), Point
2015 - Marner, Aho (or Carlo, or Hintz, or Andersson)
2016 - Matthews, DeBrincat (or Kyrou, or Hronek, or Girard)
2017 - Robert Thomas (or Oettinger, or Jason Robertson), Geekie
2018 - Ryan McLeod
2019 - Connor McMichael, Protas
2020 - Mercer (or Schneider, or Tyson Foerster, or Jake Neighbours)
2021 - Knies

Even if they had picked just TWO of these guys over EIGHT YEARS, don't you think this team would be A LOT closer to a Stanley Cup right now? You'll notice the teams doing their draft homework (especially Dallas) are looking pretty good right now.

The fact that the only depth players we plucked from the draft is Knies and Robertson (as the 13th forward) is a significant reason why this team has struggled more often than not to advance in the playoffs.

Very tragic but he absolutely sucked as a pick. The Leafs did not need another soft, small, one-way winger. Even if he had not died, I highly doubt he would have ever been an impact player on the Leafs or even in the NHL.

Me too. He would look great right now.

Even worst case, he's a 3rd pairing guy and the Leafs don't have to put a LHD on the right side.

Best case, he's better than Carlo and Leafs don't have to give up another 1st round pick and a prospect at the deadline.

No way in He** that hit from Bennet hurt Stolarz. Sorry. IF by some way it actually did, no way it was intentional (they're very good friends off ice). Move on folks, nothing to see here. Might be plenty to discuss after tonight, but this ain't it.

Dude that’s pretty harsh.

No one knows what he would’ve turned into. Just leave it at that.

I literally have no (frank)ing clue what’s going to happen tonight.

Woll could suck, or could be great.

He’s been exceptional all playoffs.

Quietly getting his points, while playing very good defence.
