Brown had 12 points in 71 games last year, 30 points in 82 games this year. He's a serviceable player but is absolutely interchangeable with any other bottom 6 forward in the league. He's no star.

When Hyman left Toronto to sign in Edmonton for 5 milly/season NOBODY thought that was a good move for the Oilers. He had two good statisical seasons playing with McJesus and his numbers cratered back down to earth this year. I love the type of game he brings to the table, but him back in the Leafs lineup isn't putting them over the top.

Or, let's play the game where you add his 5 million AAV in to our lineup, who do you subtract to pay for that? That means no Chris Tanev and you have half a million in cap room.

I so hope that you’re right.

Woll has done very well for us in the playoffs, especially coming in relief for dudes like Samsonov. I'd rather stolarz healthy and starting, but Woll hasn't given us much reason to have such little faith in him.
