Carolina’s pp kind of sucks. Tie game with a 2 min powerplay to end the game and had no urgency. |

I hate the way Carolina plays. Boring, no pizzazz. Just trying to put you to sleep and steal a game. I'd really like to play them in the Conference final. Just skate them into the ice. Freddy Andersen is only average.
As I type, Carolina wins. What a bogus goal. A seeing eye half slapshot. Boring! |

Man, is the Oilers defense a Swiss cheese sandwich. Dallas looks like the winner coming out of the West.

I think Dallas wins the Cup but holy (frank) this Edmonton team is fun to watch.
Hyman...another one that got away...
Connor Brown, also not good enough for the Leafs... |

I’ve got money on WPG/TOR for SCF
But Dallas or Deadmonton could ruin that. |

Kampf and Jarnkrok at 2.5 each or Brown at 1?

It's almost like there is this crazy thing called: Leafs management incompetency who waste cap space on the wrong players. |

With the Sharks picking #2, if Schaefer goes to the Isles, I wonder if they squeeze value out of it? They have Eklund/ Smith and Celibrini as shifty scorers (Macklin does it all as well) and Misa is a similar player. Or go big, draft him and move one of Eklund/Smith later?
I'm sure a team out there might give up parts. (frank) it, Isles go scorched earth and trade Barzal, Pulock and whatever salary retention needed + incentives or the 2nd overall. |

Jarnkrok at 2.1 (that is the actual number) and Brown at 3.6 (that is the actual number).
Jarnkrok every time at that time.

That would be a horrible trade for the 2nd pick in this draft.
So i hope they do it. |

Obviously. I'm just thinking what rebuilding team can give them players that can be vets but still are good players with term. Philly trades Sanheim/Konecny |

Yeah, I agree, keeping Hyman would've given us a deadly 1-2 beefy boi punch at LW with Knies. |

They couldn't afford to keep Hyman - why is that so hard for people to understand and move on from?

They could have. But it would have been tight and I don't think he would have been the catalyst to have changed the past outcomes. Him on this team right here and now would have been wild, but nobody could predict all of the changes that happened in between and if they would have happened. |

Ya, and in the summer of 21' they were negotiating an extension with Rielly. Planning for that cap hit combined with the unknown timeline on the flat-cap made it really difficult to go big on Hyman.
But, if they viewed him as a must have ...they could have made the room by trimming on all the edges (and probably giving him 8 years to lower the hit).

hyman is a way better fit in edmonton than he ever would be here. we already had him and he was ok. given their cap situation at the time it made total sense to let him walk. he's a gamer but he'd be a 40 pt guy nobody really talks about much if he was still here. |

Sure they technically could have afforded him if they chose to then used a bunch of guys on ELC's to fill the rest of the roster. He was not the player in Toronto he has been in Edmonton, not even close & the Leafs already had to look through the bargin bin after he left to get a full roster.
I don't think he'd have become the player he is now had be stayed in Toronto but that's just my opinion - there were no indications he would suddenly become a goal scoring machine but then again when Mc Jesus is the focus it does free up other guys to get far more opportunity than they would get usually. |
