Unless you are replacing marner with Rantanen, there arent many players that can replace him....points and passing wise.
I dont like his at $13m, but i also dont like Matthews at $13.5 either
Knies has been great, but hes only been great playing with elite players like marner and matthews (when hes playing well).
Itr would be interesting to see how effective knies in with other players

Didn't want to comment, cuz I'm out of it, but I agree with this 100% but also remind you that he was kinda lights out on a short stint with the 3rd line last year if I remember...like really good?!?!.

Knies is quickly one of my favs, buuuuuttttt..... is he consistent? That's where the money conversation starts, and he's a RFA so that's kinda where it ends.

Hope he gets paid....not in a greedy way though...as you mentioned above.

Brick Woll does well again. His appearance in this series has really given the Leafs a boost. Team seemed to really rally around the Stolarz injury and Woll, despite defensive breakdowns in front of him, is so good at making the timely saves at the right moments.

The 3rd period has been the Leafs worst period this playoffs but tonight, they sealed the deal. Even when they lost the lead, Marner saved the day. Which is funny because according to some local idiots, he never wins games for the Leafs. Oh but it's not late enough in the series so it doesn't count...4th career playoff GWG.

Thus far, the Leafs have won 6 playoff games with 6 different GWG scorers.

Marner, Knies, Pacioretty, Domi, Tavares and Benoit.

The Leafs need to continue to put this series out of reach. It'll be a tough road game, but Matthews has got to win us a game at some point this series. Bob has had two games with bad SV% and the Leafs shooting % is absurd right now. If those two stats come back down to Earth, they're going to need somebody like Matthews to rise above and be a difference maker. Everybody in the top-six has won the Leafs a game. Nylander doesn't have a GWG yet but he's been a 1st star player at least once.

We need Matthews to step up at some point and provide the same. Without that, the Panthers could find their way back into this series the way Ottawa pushed back.

Really good write up. I'm happy with the respect Sens are getting for way they played....

Same for leafs, look different this year and I honestly believe they have the best chance in the East to make the cup finals. Their play and confidence is very real. Nylander deserves so much credit, Matthews needs to score!
