We are in the process of building a 14' x 26' porch on the back of our house. The room faces south and will be almost entirely windows with a 10' glass patio door. It will be a 3 season room.
We are thinking about installing skylights on the roof to further increase the amount of sunlight but I have mixed feelings about whether that is a good idea or not.

We built a south-facing sunroom a few years ago and had similar doubts about adding skylights — mostly about heat and glare. But we went with triple-glazed roof lights from Regal Glass Group, and it worked out better than expected.

The solar control glass keeps things bright but not overheated, and the room stays comfortable even on hot days. They’re also UKCA & BS certified and come with a 20-year no-leak guarantee, which gave us peace of mind.
