Gotta love a rebuilding team that thinks Hathaway, Seeler and Poehling are core pieces that need to be extended and that Scott Laughton is too valuable to trade.
A once great franchise is now one of the laughingstocks of the NHL. |

You don't think that is a foundation for a cup contending team? Interesting. Even with all the culture and standard they bring to the table?

Only two players for a team that has been as bad as they've been over the past decade? That's concerning.
To put that number in perspective:
Sharks 6
Jackets 6
Wings 5
Hawks 5
Ducks 5
Kraken 5
Jets 5
Utah 5
Blues 5
Caps 5
Habs 5
Sabres 4
Canes 4
Wild 4
Yes there are actual contenders that have somehow been able to draft twice as many high end prospects in the past 5-years than the Flyers, lol. |

Are you certain of this? I didn't read this anywhere. If you are right, then yes I would be completely against any player that thinks they do not have earn a spot on the NHL roster. I'm just not sure that is the case here. I think with these college players, they use care more abut using their leverage to burn a year off their ELC. I can't imagine a hockey player at this level that doesn't work very hard and wants to earn their spot. Its in their DNA after all, or at least it should be. - jd250
https://thehockeynews.com...rs-trade-rutger-mcgroarty
Per the Winnipeg News' Mike McIntyre, McGroarty is looking for assurances and guarantees that he'll be in the NHL and get his share of ice time. As a result, it's been difficult for teams to trade for him, as there's a "sense of entitlement."
"There are other teams that might be interested in Rutger McGroarty that are hearing a lot of the same things from the McGroarty camp that the Jets have heard in terms of playing time and assurances," McIntyre said on Winnipeg Sports Talk, adding, "There may have been one particular deal that was close to happening that essentially fell apart because the other team didn't like what they were hearing either from the McGroarty camp. That may be complicating this for the Jets."

Gabe Perrault 13...Gauthier 19...with Buium 5 and MM 2 the Flyers should have 4 of the top 19 on their roster...instead have 1 inside top 50 |

Would be nice if some attention was paid to the men aside from Briere, and Jones in the front office, and scouting departments.
Accountability isn’t a thing on the various Flyers Pravda news outlets.
I do hold solace in the fact that we are able to keep all the scumbag senior advisors on board, guess Snider’s grave hasn’t been fully milked yet.
Not sure why anyone would be surprised considering what company owns the team at this point. |

If the Flyers brain trust was running Ford Motors, they’d still be rolling out the Edsel every year. |

I bet last year Bonk was not in his top 100 either. Let's give it a year and see how this changes. Right not this is soley based on hype, not results. I am sure Buium will be a good player, but I think Luchenko is poised to have a monster +1 season. |

Yes, I read more about this situation this morning, you're right, I'll shut up now. Read this great comment from someone this morning that pretty much sums up the situation:
That kid’s family is going to completely tank his career because they’re telling him he’s a superstar.
Even Bedard was telling reporters after the draft that his first goal was to try and make the Hawks lineup ffs |

Honestly, what are you basing your hopelessness on, some guy's BS prospect ranking? Luchenko is only 17 years old, give the kid a chance, and have some faith that Flahr and his scouting staff know what they are doing. |

It's not about giving the kid a chance. It's about they passed up a chance to get a player rated in the top 5 for a lower rated prospect and the flawed reasoning behind the decision

does this really need to be answered. What's funny is if that guy had several flyers ranked high you would be slobbering over his knob.
why does or should flahr get the benefit of the doubt? how many drafts has he been involved in during his time with the flyers? you happy with those results in terms those players graduating to the nhl? |
