How does Sergachev have major injury concerns? - Feds91Stammer
He missed a bunch of games with a knee injury and then in his first game back he broke his fibula in the same leg. There should definitely be concern there. |

Mark Madden: Tampa Bay shows Penguins what might have been with offseason moves
Don't care if you like mark madden, but this is the truth about the penguins. Madden isn't bad but my fav is tim benz. - jb55
Except Madden's big idea was sign Trocheck instead of Malkin. It goes back to the argument - Malkin and Letang havent been the problem. If they were, Madden's argument would have some validity. But they havent been the problem and Trocheck wouldnt have solved anything.
And I really dont think Tampa is that much better. Losing Stamkos/Sergachev for Jake isnt worth it IMO for the next 2 years or so at least with how Stamkos was playing.

And then he returned in the playoffs and has a whole offseason to recover and whatnot? Wouldn’t call that concerning at all. |

I like a lot of what you guys are doing. It reminds me of the quote the Flyers had after they traded Richards and Carter - "I dont know if we will be a better team, but I know we will be a different team."
Respect how you guys are going down swinging. |

Meh. Some of the worst metrics out of all of the Bs defenseman last season. Very small. - MattStrat
When you only want to dish out short term, low AAV deals, what else do you expect to get lol |

Yeah, they had to do something. Still tons of question marks, but (frank) it, might as well try. |

Tatar Eller Sprong 4th line. Who says no? Other than Sullivan of course. |

Well, apparently we're only bringing in Boston guys this offseason (Quinn, Hayes, Grzelcyk). Sprong is the guy you bring in if you want to change coaches but don't have the balls to fire Sully. |

Going to be really interesting to see what the pens do with Sid.
Either he stays loyal and rides into the sunset with the Pens while most likely never playing in the playoffs again.
Or he tells them he wants one more legitimate chance and the pens let him walk or a sign/trade
But Dubas has sent a clear message that he has no intention on competing this year and his focus is on the future. Pettersson will be the big trade deadline piece with Smith and Eller following. Maybe a deal for Rust in the offseason. Do we dare say Malkin would want to leave as well? |

That's a fair assessment. But... I have zero respect for the half way BS approach. All in or full rebuild. Everyone wants to keep the big 3 here until they retire but why? So we can watch the full back half of their careers be wasted by poopty GM's? I'd rather Sid go chase a cup with the Habs than look back on his retirement and say, holy poop, I didn't realize that Crosby went the entire final decade of his career without advancing past the 1st round of the playoffs. - MacPatty
This is the shifting gears season. These guys signed for less to stay together and have movement protection, so unless they want to go they aren't moving.
They could tear down more, but who is getting first round picks? It's past time to get value on a rebuild. Nothing much to do but ride it out. And throwing futures at this team is just folly.
Honestly, I'd have kept Jake and tried to stay more competitive. I agree this purgatory isn't fun, but yes I'll still enjoy watching the stars chase milestones. |
