Actually believe this. He is a project worth considering fot Mtl.
Martin St. Louis could make him comfortable and he’s just one year older than the Cpt 14 Suzuki. Having Laine on the pp with 22 would be a one time from both sides killer. Throw Slav in the middle with Suzuki and Hudson on the point and it becomes a pp to fear. |

I doubt if St Louis could help him. He's Finnish so he would be great alongside Barkov, but the Panthers don't need another head case and they cannot afford him anyway. |

if the price is right, make sense as they are cruely missing a bing winger
that would imply Clb as an interest in one of our too many young D... |

Let's go baby, Marty could get him back to form. It's not every day you can get the best player of their draft class at a bargain price

How about coming back with a blogger for the NJ Devils? As Ted Knight says in Caddyshack, "We're Waiting!" |

maybe he can just reunite with Puljujärvi in Pittsburgh |

Acquiring Puljujarvi might cost a lot. Could be a conditional 5th in 2026. |

Oh yeah-- the French press will love him, and the fanbase will be super-understanding if he doesn't turn things around immediately.
This could only end well. |

Um . . . thought the best player in the 2016 draft was Austin Mathews !! |

Sounds like a good fit...put him with Carey and the price soars to over 19m dead cap. I see they are trying to compete with the Flyers! |

Puljujarvi couldn’t score alongside McDavid but maybe Laine can get him going.

Playing in Montreal with an $8.7M cap hit sounds like a bad idea for a guy who has struggled with issues around confidence and mental health. But if he's paired with his friend and former linemate Puljujarvi that could be a great idea. |

#Canucks have signed D Filip Hronek to an eight-year, $58 million extension: 8 years x $7.25 million.
Big piece of business done.

I’d definately take a shot at Laine and Puljarvi. Why not. Tons of upside if they get it going. |

If you could combine Laine's physical skills and offense with Puljujarvi's defensive game, then you'd have a quality player. Both have huge gaps in their games. |

Patrik Laine needs to evolve his game, plain and simple. The game is becoming "heavier" and for a player with injury issues and frail confidence he will need to change his mindset and learn a whole new role. John LeClair comes to mind after leaving Montreal, he really worked on changing his game and became a consistent goal scorer and less prone to injury. He was also on a line called the Legion of Doom consisting of Renberg Lindros & LeClair so that helped. I do wish him a full recovery and rejuvenation, forget beating McDavid or Matthews, just be Laine.

Having the Oilers in the final is a real flaw in the playoff structure. I mean, if they had better luck in Game 1, they would be up 3-2 right now, heading home, with all the momentum. But even still, they are down 3-2, heading home with Florida on the ropes. What an embarassment. When will we ever have the two best teams facing each other?? |
