Were most of Carolina's chances in the first? The 2nd and 3rd periods did not feel bad last game.
- JRR1285

Was just going to say the same. I thought we won the 2nd and 15 minutes of the 3rd. I wouldn’t say Carolina dominated the game outright based on play.

Anyone catch the Boston/Florida game last night? That call on no goaltender interference was awful. And for Toronto to acknowledge that Swayman was interfered with, just not enough to overturn the goal…yikes.

Yes, brutal call as to the lack of an interference call. The goal should have been overturned.

At the final buzzer, McDavid got a crosscheck to the face by soucy (with help from Zadorov) not sure he’ll be suspended but it’s close

Zadorov, fined 5k. Soucy, phone call hearing with league.

The officiating has been too inconsistent (surprise, surprise). If they’re going to tighten it up so there’s no “playoff leniency”, fine. But at least be consistent if that’s the order.

Awful would have a been an improvement. And the league explanation behind the call was beyond stupid.

“He was interfered with, but it wasnt enough interference to be interference. Only interfered with a little bit, we only call penalties on inference when its a lot a bit.”

Rule 69 from the league:

The league explanation on the official's call.

Same exact verbiage.

Need consistency through out the whole 60 minutes of the game. The slow starts in games are killing us.

As I mentioned the previous thread, the bad play in our own zone needs to stop. The guys need to respond and react much quicker when they're going for pucks in the corners. They have a bad habit of holding the puck too long. The Canes forecheck is so quick and aggressive they're right there in the face of players causing poor decisions, poor passes and inevitably a lot of d-zone turnovers.

Natural stat trick also tracks high danger chances. That snip in included in my post. It was 14-7 in favor of the Canes and very much felt that way.
- blacksheep1

Interesting. I'd respectfully disagree. They were likely quite even for the entire game, but we had 2 posts and a knob deny us in the 2nd period alone. And several more chances for Laf right in the slot that he missed. I agree that our first 10 mins was awful and a few poor moments throughout the game occurred, but I would disagree with it feeling like we should have lost that game any more than the other 3. Difference was they finally scored on their pp, and have shut ours down for 2 games now.
