Feel like Teravainen has been pretty inconsistent in Carolina. I would be pretty surprised if he stayed. |

Teuvo Teravainen. Another Cane center....They simply can't lose both Guentzal and Teravainen.
Neither GuentzEl nor Teravainen (how the hell do you manage to spell that correctly?) play center. Teravainen last played center in 2017 and has been playing wing since then. |

Neither Jake Guentzel nor Teuvo Teravainen have played center in years. |

Marchessault doesn't play center either, and Reinhart played more RW. |

none of them play center in reality. stamkos is prolly the closest because he takes a fair number of FOs |

Did he mean FAs or Forwards?? Most of these players are wingers not centers |

Given Vegas' propensity to jettison significant pieces (Schmidt/Fleury/Stastny/Pacioretty/Smith) I don't know how anyone could be shocked that they'd be possibly willing to move on from Marchessault. Also I had no idea that Marchessault was a center. |

Can you post the faceoff stats for these 5 centers? Make sure to include total number of faceoffs taken.
Good blog. |

Teams would be nuts throwing huge money at Reinhart after a "lightning in a bottle" season where he scored 24 more goals than his previous high on a stacked team. Including 27 PP goals.
Some team will be dumb enough to give him 8 years at 10 million plus. |

Total faceoffs taken by “centers” who hate taking faceoffs 2023-24:
Guentzel-23
Marchessault-24
Teravainen doesn’t hate it so much. He took 140.

Not a single one of these players is listed as a center in their current team lineups. But Ek is still figuring out what the different positions in ice hockey are. Give him time. He'll figure it out. |

I don’t know. It gets confusing when you get to Tanev.

I am convinced EK does this stuff on purpose. |

I've only watched like 100 Penguin games over the last number of years. So a small sample size, but I think in about 99 of those games a center named Crosby had Guentzel glued to his wing. But perhaps Guentzel is a center at heart. His reason for leaving Pittsburgh is he didn't like being stuck behind Crosby and Malkin.
Admittedly I didn't watch the Carolina games against NYI. I noticed so far in the series Guentzel has taken 3 faceoffs while Aho has taken 32. But maybe Guentzel keeps getting kicked out of the faceoff circle and Aho has to fill in a lot.

Malkin is an Ace. It's very important for Russians to be viewed as a 1C. Rumour has it that Ovechkin likes to take a few faceoffs each year so he can also be labelled as an Ace. One time Vasilevski played a prank and wore a Stamkos jersey in practice so he could be a 1C too.

Buzztron, what is Hutson's ceiling?
A: He has all the tools to be a better center than Guentzel, Reinhart, and Marchessault.

Stamkos is the only center on this list. And even he is more of a wing at this point. Sick research once again |
