"Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Monday regarding a slew-foot against Detroit Red Wings winger Alex DeBrincat during today’s loss, per a league announcement.
The incident occurred about halfway through the third period, with the Wild already trailing by multiple goals. As DeBrincat attempted to shield teammate Michael Rasmussen by the Wild bench as he carried the puck up the ice, Hartman approached DeBrincat from behind. Hartman’s foot made contact with the back of DeBrincat’s skates and continued to follow through as DeBrincat fell backward to the ice.
NHL Player Safety will likely determine whether Hartman intended to injure DeBrincat on the play, the principal factor in the length of a potential suspension. Because this is not an in-person hearing, a suspension would be five games or less." |

Good game by Lyon. Maybe it is time to sell Reimer to Kenny for McLeod. |

Gotta like seeing what Ghost brings to this team... 4 point night. Still proving to be a great pickup. Compher has also been fantastic... he's making the other players around him better and it's paying dividends for the team now. Like the fact he can play PP and PK.
Lyon was outstanding tonight with 38 saves. He stood on his head in the second period when the Wings were badly outshot. Played excellent in the third too and closed the door (despite the Wings getting outshot in the 3rd period also). He's very good at controlling his rebounds... unlike Husso or Reimer. Given the fact he's allowed 3 goals in his last 3 games I'd say he deserves the next start against the Rangers on Wed. |

I’m honestly shocked. How many things (like the hit in Larkin that was identical to his hit on Oshie) have Wings fans seen go unpunished. Hartman could legitimately wake up with head and neck issues and get a suspension. That’s a bad day |

Lyon was incredible. Ghost just has me shaking my head with how much he is contributing. Compher really looks like a good pickup. With he and Perron Both as power play off wing shot options, just awesome. Larkin gets grief at times, but he made some big plays again |

Wings need to come out swinging against the Rangers on Wednesday. Get back to using their speed and take away time and space to frustrate their opponents like they did against NJ and Boston. I didn't see quite the same effort tonight against Minnesota but glad they hung in there and didn't panic and still got the win. Love the fact the PP seems to be clicking again... it's a huge difference maker. |

Lyon was a difference maker tonight and should have been playing awhile ago as some people on here have been saying. Yzerman should trade Husso or Reimer right now for ever has more value. |

Seider and Ghost are a good pair. I would lock up Ghost. I think he will continue to get better as he gets to know the tendencies of the players. We haven’t had a player like him since Rafalski, and I think Ghost has more offense ( and clearly less defense). I like how mobile he is at the top on the PP. |

There are definitely some decisions to be made by The Captain, for sure. WHo stays and who goes? I'm with you; Ghost for 2-3yrs.....but he HAS to pair with someone who can cover his defensive lapses, so Mo Sides? I'd rather he remain 1D with Walman. Can't pair Ghost with Holl, he requires too much back-up. Peach's kid? MAYBE, they seem to pair up decently, but Peach's kid is getting older and more prone to lapses ("Peaches" was Dan Petry, pitcher for the DET Tigers back in the day....). Not sure it's a good idea to pair him with a call-up kid, BUT would think that (hear me out on this...); Call-up Kid with Mo Sides, Walman & Ghost? I dunno, but watching this evolve will be interesting.
Of course, if we're deep into a SCPO run, I'd be hesitant to call anyone up and try to give them serious time. It definitely needs to be done, but who and when is a big decision.

Good points. But if Ghost can get 4 points paired with Mo, and I realize he had 2 on the PP without Mo, but regardless, the proof is always in the pudding.

Absolutely agree.....was just spit-ballin' some ideas. Fact is, whilst we don't have the BEST D-Line now, the situation in which we find ourselves is refreshing. How long have we been waiting to have a situation where we have folks playing well that have to be accounted for in late-season call-ups?!?!? Like I said, I'm not a HUGE fan of Holl, but he's slowly growing on me, kinda, sorta......he's not the best to have, but his game is serviceable. He's a RD, so he wouldn't impact a call-up for Johansson or Eddy.....so which LD sits/gets traded....etc.... Good position to be in, for now. Aside from bringing in a big name D-Due, we've got a decent problem on our hands. 'Course that all could change if we tank the season.....which I don't see happening.
Going to be a good season, love what I see in this team thus far.....

Overall, was a good game. Was happy with what I saw, but the Wild were given too many zone entry chances, probably something that could use some attention.
Lyon was rock solid. Great to see what he's bringing to the table, makes the G situation tolerable. Still think we need a more solid G. A 3-way platoon will work, and may be the way it's done in the future, but for now I think we need to either grow Lyon into a stable 1A/B G or trade for someone.....which is NOT going to happen in the current environment. So that leaves growing our own G. Lyon's play is impressive, VERY few easy rebounds which has plagued us over the past several years. Going to be a while before one of Augustine or Cossa are to the point where they can be threats, so something needs to happen to address that concern.
Hope to see Walman come back, thankfully he was able to take some time to heal. Interested to see what his actual issue is and whether or not it's longer term than is being put out to the public. He's a LD, so one of Eddy or Johansson COULD be called up.....I really like the 11-7 split being used, but it's not overly sustainable for this team.
Overall a good day. Hartman needs to sit, for sure, however. He intentionally slew-footed The Cat, replays showed his right leg deliberately hitting Cat and Hartman's right arm pushed Cat backwards. Deliberate all day long...... |

The other thing that I’m seeing is that DeBrincat is demoted to the second PowerPlay unit. Compher replaces him. JT is definitely my new favorite red wing. And yes, I’ll stop talking about him because I went out on a limb this summer, saying he was going to be awesome having watched some clips of his play, and remembering how he played against us. But, I’ll save my Serving of crow until end of season For feds because he insisted Copp was better
Getting back to my point, we need to keep Alex DeBrincat hot, and I don’t think we should have him on the second PP unit. I know Perron and Raymond are hot on the PP, and I suppose results speak for themselves, but we finally have a PP that scores, and we finally have a sniper in DeBrincat. He just looks a little frustrated out there.

Wild fire Everson and hire Hynes.
Detroit beating them was just too much for Guerin!🤣 |
