Exactly! RF

Love it! So cause Nazar and Moore may or may not step in next year and automatically be nightly difference makers, it’s time to label them busts or bottom 6’ers.

Kudos to LFS with the BODiest BOD post of the morning. The day is still young.

- HawkintheD

Well obviously! If a guy isn’t a superstar in his first season how else would you classify them? Oh, I get it! You’re one of those guys proposing we wait a season or two or even wait until they play a season in the minors before you make a judgement. Can’t you determine how good an 18 or 19 year old player, you’ve probably never seen, will be when he’s 22 or 23? You just won the Mope of the day award.

I tead people on this board talking about speed. Speed may get you there first but it means nothing if you cant put the puck in the net. I see a bunch of 3/4 liners.. nothing outstanding in the pipeline.
- LFS

Well if you have more speed and compete then maybe you can play better defense and actually maintain possession so you aren't defending in your own end all night. How much more scoring are we going to need? I believe as Bedard gets older and more talent around him that line is probably going to put up over a 100 points a year. Besides if you have a team with great skating and great defense you create many counter opportunities which lead to many man advantages the other way.

There good thing is that they've had a ton of kicks at the can, and will for at least two more years in terms of picks. They guys they've picked at least are continuing to point if regardless of whether or not we know what they will become.

In Rockford, you have Dach, Allan, del Mastro and at this point maybe one of Rolston or Lyupen that has a shot? I'd guess Guttman and Anderson are seen as placeholders at the moment.

Elsewhere, you have about 8-10 players that are showing really well at the moment. There won't be room for all of them, but that's a good problem to have.

I always love the guys you don't really notice or see coming. I'm seriously rooting for Ludwinski.

No I don't think so. IMHO the BOD would only be happy if the Hawks were winning every game by lopsided scores, hitting on every pick and picking all stars no matter where they pick in the first round and sweeping every series on the way to a dozen consecutive Stanley Cups.

Even then some on here would still find room to complain.

I thought for sure you would be a Marcel guy.

I have almost no background on Greene. When Ludwinski was drafted, I looked into almost all of his history (no idea why). I just like his story, and loved this article on him from about a year ago.

Greene, Hayes, Savoie, and a number of others are all looking pretty good. It will take a while (longer than you'd like for sure), but I'm excited.

I am to, it will take a minute for sure. It's tough to watch them lose. I recall you liking Allen's game as well with Seattle. Hopefully he's another quality NHL starter in time. Like i said before it would be wild if all those misses on defenseman that Bowman chose early in his career are hits going into this rebuild.

Yeah, I’ve been high on Allan for a while. Skates well, positions well, and definitely has some nasty to him. He’s had a little bit of offense to him in the past, but my guess is that will take a number of seasons to get that going for him. I like that they are preaching making quicker decisions and passes to the forwards in Rockford. It will help in the bigs.

Reminds me a little of Kronwall when he was at his best.

When talking about a prospect coming in and contributing immediately, what does that mean to you?

What do you have to see from a prospect in the pipeline that would make you think he is more than a 3/4th liner?

- Chunk

Let me ask you, which player do you see as a difference maker? Give me some names. You must have an idea based on their current performances.

Define difference maker and how soon do you expect them to achieve that? What do you need to see from a prospect that would make you think they WERE a difference maker?

Well obviously 30 goals and a point a game, in his first season.
- paulr

Not at all. At this point i would settle for crossing the blue line and maintaining possession for 10 seconds

I’m trying to get a baseline of your expectations and a definition of what you are looking for. Otherwise, it’s a useless exercise.

The Hawks started their rebuild from the backend first, I’m sure that you can see the talent there. The forwards will come, but doubt any of them make a significant contribution next year besides Bedard and Reichel. It takes longer to develop defensemen, so the timing should workout for when the incoming forwards are ready, like Nazar, Moore, and four first round picks in the next two years, plus others. The Hawks will be good again before you know it, good times are coming and I’m enjoying the ride.
- Angotti

I definitely see the talent in the dmen. I am not as hopeful as others with the forwards. Good yes, i dont see any difference makers at this point.

In an attempt to answer your question from my own perspective, I think the best two would be Nazar and Misiak. I’d say Moore, Greene, Ludwinski, Dach and Hayes are right behind them.

Well, if we're going to be exact, in my post that you answered, nowhere did I say that there are any forwards stepping in next year that could be counted on right away.

You're the one saying though that there is no help coming from within and that none of these guys have the ability to become top 6 players.

Or do I have that wrong? We're talking about 18 and 19 year old kids. Maybe give it a minute FFS.

Hayes is piling up points. He is kinda streaky but he has an NHL shot and release.

Because Khaira isn’t here to do it and Entwistle is already playing.
