All of them. This team is the definition of mediocre. The captaincy is the first spot that should be up for grabs. |

I still think Lee is a good captain to this wobbly ship that we're sailing. Hard to get goals from a stone, as the saying goes right?

Agree somewhat. Mayfield was a hot mess out there. Like I said 2 weeks ago: he possess a beer-league calibre (nod to canadians) wrister from the blue line and a slap shot that couldnt hit the side of a death star. Will go down as LL’s WORST SIGNING EVEREEEEERERRRRRRRR |

Dufour is better than a bunch of role-players and Maggio will make the team by next year, despite the Trocek trying to end his career early on. Glad RJ female dog slapped him. |

Not quite sure how Lee has been a bad Captain? Who on this team would be a better leader in your opinion? I know some people view Captain as a player that can put the team on his back and carry them. However, I do not think the Isles have a such a player.

Head coaching position is the most vulnerable if things go south the first couple of months. - Cptmjl
it may not be fair to Lane, but this is the life for coaches.

Lamoriello historically gives his coaches a real short leash. |

He really does. I see Lane like Aaron Boone. There are better coaches you could hire, but are they in the best position to win a title with their current teams?

Yeah my comment wasn’t a jab at lambert. I’m still unsure how I feel about him as a coach. That in no way means I want the guy fired. I just think Lou will can him real quick if the team doesn’t perform out of the gates. |

Understood. Hard to get a read on Lane after just one year.

Durandeau is gonna play his way on to this team, as well as Dufour. Maybe Lou makes a deal if they have a good preseasons? |

Neither one of them is making the team out of camp, but Dufour's skating has drastically improved which is a great sign. I'd expect them to be the first call-ups if/when someone goes down |

Dufour looks really close, and he better be ready because odds are very good he will be needed.

Interesting team.
Pretty much the same crew.
Mediocre but they get things accomplished.
In Ottawa we have an Islanders "light" going on with Capuano, Rich Pilon's kid in camp and Josh Bailey on the pto.
Sens desperately need to move Mathieu Joseph or Kubalik. Maybe the the added scoring touch of Kubalik might interest the Isles? But seems NY is also not long on cap space....so not sure how that works. |

Who do you think takes Parise’s spot on the third line? Holmstrom? |

Seems like there's a real chance it's Lee. He's been paired with Pageau a lot so far, including last night.
Speaking of pairings, here's tonight's expected lineup:
Projected Lines:
Simon Holmstrom-Bo Horvat-Mathew Barzal
Eetu Liukas-Karson Kuhlman-Oliver Wahlstrom
Ruslan Iskhakov-Casey Cizikas-Julien Gauthier
Dmytro Timashov-Brian Pinho-Matt Martin
Adam Pelech-Noah Dobson
Dennis Cholowski-Robin Salo
Travis Mitchell-Paul LaDue
Ilya Sorokin

Lee starting the year as 3LW would be a shock, but it could be interesting.

Bullpoop. Lee didn’t construct this roster, nor does he have any say when it comes to personnel. Making him the sacrificial lamb would be both pointless and foolish.
Varly was crap last night, but it’s preseason so… *shrugs*. Lots of rust on the rest of the regulars as well. Not surprising.
Dufour has really taken his game up a notch! He was certainly faster than last year. |

Dufour definitely matured, and I’m not sure who 71 was (not listed on their roster) but he looked good to me as well. |
