To sum it up, it’s really hard to play centre in the nhl. We have one of the best and at least one of our fans stated that they would trade him for m. Tkachuk. Willy could play centre if he was so inclined, but I doubt that he would put in the work. Even McD, as great as he is, is an average centreman.

Willie for m Tkachuk?

Why announce Nylander at C today? Treliving coaching this team now? Why not let this play out. How does Nylander suddenly discover defensive committment and playing hard on the puck? He's been a cruiser his whole career unfortunately. Players, especially ones this far into their career, don't typically change their spots. Guy is not a 200 ft player, isn't responsible, and is s-o-f-t.

It will play out. They’re starting camp with him at C to see if it works. If it doesn’t (and my guess is that it won’t), he’ll be back on the wing.

They are just trying it out. They announced it to get ahead of the media who would see him playing C and then pose questions or make up storylines.
They'll play him at center throughout preseason and then keefe will throw the lines into blender for most of the season.
Besides, if it turns out he can play center, it ups his trade value if he doesnt extend.

The tree said that earlier today in his presser.
We'll know after the surgery what it was for.

It's fairly accurate. Participation ribbons all around. Crying's good, too, especially when you lose. And if you don't like the hardass coach, get his ass fired.

Boys it’s camp. Who gives a poop about Willy at centre or not eh. My guess is Keefe tweaked his systems in all zones - assignments/responsibilities go with that you know.
Willy may do well he may not. Willy seems to be betting on himself in all regards contract wise (10M) he is a great skater, strong, and reads the play incredibly well. He makes good decisions with puck in own zone and from what I remember didn’t do too bad when he was pulled in to take a draw. See how she goes.

Some Leafs who have added size versus last year's training camp measurements:

• Auston Matthews 6'3 215 (+7 lbs)
• Morgan Rielly 6'1 225 (+3 lbs)
• Conor Timmins - 6'2 206 (+21 lbs)
• Tyler Bertuzzi - 6'2 200 (+1", 14 lbs)
• Max Domi - 5'10 208 (+14 lbs)
• Martin Jones - 6'5 203 (+1", 13 lbs)
• Sam Lafferty - 6'2 205 (+1", 11 lbs)
• Keith Petruzzelli - 6'6 190 (+10 lbs)

- Woderwick

Definitely thought/still do? that Matthews weighed more than that. Was thinking 225 ish.

He did at one point.

Then worked with Kane’s trainer to be 15 lbs. lighter with same strength.

There was a ton of articles about it.
