Some people want to just flip on their tv and watch the game. Not everyone wants to deal with illegal streaming sites littered with porn ads.

If they go streaming only at some point, NHL Center Ice needs to nix that policy of blacking out games if you live in the broadcast area.

Hockey on the computer is the worst. As long as I can watch on TV, then whatever.

It is amazing how quickly we went from "Streaming will allow you to cut your TV cable and save a ton of money" to "You need 3-4 different streaming services to watch your sports teams... and you save absolutely nothing compared to cable."

It absolutely saves you money if you manage your subs from month to month and unsub from services you’re not using and resub when it’s time to use them again. Whether or not you want to put in that type of effort is a different story but with the AppleTV interface it’s very easy for my to turn on and off Paramount+, AMC+, and MGM+ at will. The Disney+ package, Max, and Netflix are evergreen for me so I don’t bother with those but I can probably get better about turning Peacock on and off.

Even if you have cable you still need streaming to see everything haha. We have Netflix and Disney/ESPN package, plus I use Nord VPN.

It’s also worth noting that Paramount+ and Peacock have subscription tiers that allow you to watch your live local channels which give you access to all of their sports broadcasts even without cable. ESPN and the Warner bros channels like TNT don’t do this yet but once they do completely cutting out cable subs becomes extremely viable if you’re up to putting in the legwork of switching subs on and off as required

I am not familiar with Sports streaming services... will there be 24/7 content? So l, loke old games, In The Room, etc?

Or is it just the game and done?

Yea, ESPN+ is a pretty solid deal. I have it packaged with Disney+ and Hulu, and I’m perfectly content with those 3. ESPN+ has almost every pens game on (I am out of market though)

Since I'm in market, I've been wanting a streaming service for years. I got no problem paying $30. Since I often have to DVR and watch when I get home, cable has been my best option but I'd easily cut it if this happens.

Speaking of Paramount+, now that me and the Mrs. are new parents, we've been watching the show Children Ruin Everything on there, and it's pretty damn funny. Have you watched it yet? That and Lioness, which is really good too.

I didn't watch a single Flyers' game last season (self-imposed boycott) but watched a handful of Pens+ games on ESPN+, and watched the playoffs.

What I found out was the I didn't miss it at all, and I'm a former STH who would change plans to make sure I was home for every game. Sports is the only reason I would ever get cable as opposed to a streaming package, so I'll probably get something for Steelers/Eagles season and if the Phillies make the playoffs and then drop it.

If you’re in the local market all you need is a decent antenna for OTA NFL coverage.

And those people are known as dumb goys. Pirated streams have come a long way the past 10+ years, just bring it up on your computer and cast it to a tv.
