this is sad, cause even if I come back to my place burn out every evening, I cant really help them all out as I should and as much as I would like to

Honestly, I have nothing but respect for you, and all those who do social works. It's a poop job that takes passion to do, a lot like teaching. I argue with 'nut lots, but teachers are a rare breed as well, and also deserves mad props.

My son is currently studying in that field Social work/psychology, but please take care of you and don't be shy to do it.

sure, but I have to do that and taking care of 55 + patients or whatever

some of them are stables,sure, but when you start to have 9 or 10 all at the same time who get their welfare cut or they end up in the hospital or lose their place, you cant sit on your hands either if you are the one who is supposed to help them out

But if I try to do too much too fast, I will break down quickly and wont be able to help anybody in any way

My heart wants to do as fast as it should be done, but my body is not following

There will never be enough money in that area, so the same should be expected to go on

I feel like Im letting some of them down right now, cause I cant come back to them as soon as I should. When I do, it seems that they do appreciate the help and see that I care, but this is a new job and it has went crazy after a few calm weeks

I know it does not always sound like that in here, but I do care about the people Im trying to help. The system is broken. At least the job exist, but the needs are way greater and the staff that can provide the help

I do have a plan, but I am not sure when I will be able to pull it off

Don't feel down on yourself because you can't help everyone. You're just one person, so do what you can do. Helping even one person is still making a huge difference in the long run.

This. All of this. The people helping me? Help my wife. My kids. In the long run their partners and kids. Don't blame yourself for being put in a situation by a system that sets you up for failure. The shotgun method of helping people (one shot over a large area) isn't your failing. It's noble to want to help everyone, but like I learned in my own therapy, you can't stress over something out of your control. And having too many clients is not within your control. Just try and remember if you make an impact on anyone, it's always spreads beyond just that person.
