Then there is this
Flyers' Prospect Emil Andrae is NHL ready, and Brent Flahr may think the same "To me he's pretty close. If it was my choice he would be here" - wcorvette He's the next Kimmo!!

Started by Pens fans that think star players still want to go there. That organization is the Titanic just waiting to hit that iceberg! - Phillywhiteout
It's a beautiful thing. It'd already sinking and they don't have any life rafts in the first round to save them.
I don't know why ownership thinks they have a chance to compete for the cup. They're not even close to a contender anymore. |

had the flyers not wasted over 4 million in free agency maybe they could help broker a deal. Amazing how this bad a team is at the cap pretty much. - hello it's me 2050
Darn, i forgot flyers is still a very much cap-strapped team. Horrible and Incredible! š¤¢š¤®

The amazingness that is chuck Fletcher has left his mark on this failure of a team for years to come
Do you think his epic idiocy rates up there with milbury and chia? |

Bill's explanation on York is why I will never be a Torts guy. York succeeded despite Torts, not because of him. Same goes for Frost. - MBFlyerfan
We all watched the pre season, York was horrible. There was no despite anything, talk about manufactured nonsense. A young player went to the AHL, played well for a good stretch, and was called up. |

Should I have said "grow up to be a big boy or an adult". If he is here to play in the NHL then he should have fought harder to start the season in the NHL. Bu instead if sticking up for himself he just took his lumps and went to the AHL.
I would think most coaches would want push back.
Torts is a man, but a man who grew up very different times. Times when not everyone got a participation trophy or coaches have to worry about a player crying or hurting a players feelings.
The Torts hate is ridiculous.
He benched Hayes and everyone freaked out. Danny could only get round six draft pick for him.
He hurt Sanheims feelings by benching him in his home city. Danny couldn't trade him away. - WhiskeyMan
Yeah, the Torts hate is out of control. These are grown men communicating.
I can see why York may not respond because as people have mentioned it might be seen as disrespectful. But thatās because we have an overly sensitive culture. Too many people in positions of power get bent out of shape someone disagrees with something so people learn to just keep their mouths shut. I actually think Torts is great here, call things out, confront issues head on and resolve them. Too many people are passive and it lets things fester. Thereās nothing wrong with confrontation as long as you resolve and move forward and donāt get all moody about it.
Also, this team has needed a kick in the a$$ for a long time. There have clearly been locker room issues with a lack of accountability.
Last thing Iāll say on this with Torts. Thereās been talk of Michkov āspeaking back to vetsā etc. and viewed as a negative. I honestly think that will help him with Torts not hurt him. There was an interview with Gauthier about the first time he met Torts where I forget exactly what he said but it was something very confident and Torts loved it. |

I watched the pre-season. I disagree that York was horrible. I won't speak for everyone though. Just for myself. It is now completely clear why York was sent down and it wasn't because he wasn't good enough to make the team. |

Have a question for the brain trust on here. Was Zadina a bad pick or poor development? |

Just because torts verbally challenged a guy and it didnāt exactly go over well doesnāt cancel out that the player had a very poor pre season. Some guys donāt respond to the antics, nothing wrong with him trying. |

90% of the wings fans wanted Hughes in that draft. |

Tortorella is truly a coaching genius. He knows how to get the most out of his players, not by being a girly man and treating his players with respect but by being a manās man that hates participation trophies and tells it how it is. If his dog poops on the carpet he isnāt afraid to pick it up by the collar and rub his nose in it.
His methods will be studied by humanity for as long as we are around to study such things. |

He was awful in the preseason. He would probably admit that if he hasn't already. He was handling the puck like a grenade and an accident waiting to happen on every shift. Now perhaps you can argue he played that way cause grouchy Torts made him nervous, but come on now.

Ok did some back reading. So if torts comes up to and starts talking poop and you responded with the same poop you make the team. But if you continue to talk poop throughout the season he asks Briere to trade you retaining 50% salary and take a late round pick. Sounds like a great rebuild planššššHow stupid can these guys be. Bill ask to write for another team save yourself. |

There is a massive difference between a coach confronting issues and a coach causing those issues due to his personality disorders. There is healthy confrontation and unhealthy. Tortorella has a history of unhealthy confrontations. The reported way he handled the York situation was not healthy. It's clear to me that York wasn't sent down for hockey reasons but for other reasons. Hopefully Briere isn't Tortorella's puppet like Fletcher was. This teams issue hasn't been locker room issues or lack of accountability. It's been talent issues along with coaching. |

He clearly played well enough to make the team. Coupled with a 30 game REGULAR season sample the season before. York should've made the team opening game. |

Disagree. 30 games as a rookie does not lock you into the next season. You have to perform. |

You're dismissing a significantly larger sample of games over a very small sample of games. He did perform well enough to make the team. Tortorella is schizophrenic. That's why he was sent down. |
