Yeah, apparently they are getting DeAngelo deal processed around July 8-10th or something in that range. Of course, Carolina also spent a boatload on the Orlov signing as well...so...makes no sense...as usual, lol |

Penguins we’re said to be really taking a run at him. EK was allowed to talk directly with GMs. From a Pens standpoint, the only way this gets done is:
1. EK uses his NMC weight, actually wants to go the Pitt and makes that known to Grier.
2. The penguins ditch Petry and Granlund at least. It likely would make it a 3 team deal.
3. Guess. In addition to all of that, San Jose is going to need to eat less money. Like pay $1 million in EK’s salary instead of what other teams are rumored to be asking.
“So you’re saying there’s a chance?” Of #1 is true, that he wants to be there, then it’s a maybe. #2&3 are meaningless unless EK puts pressure on Grier.

The Sharks should not keep doing contortions to try to fit a square peg in a round hole here in trading EK65.They should wait one additional year to trade him when the cap goes up significantly and more teams will be able to fit him under the cap; thus creating a better bargaining siuatina nd return to the Sharks |

I'm not sure they'd have to wait an entire year. All it takes is one high dollar player to get put on LTIR during the season for the cap room to become available for a lot of teams.
