Cam plays well, I could see someone trading for him at the deadline, 1 year is not much, the Flyers could even hold some salary to make that extra year seem less of a concern. Cam can put up 25 goals/ 50 points, there should be a taker.
- wcorvette

exactly, if he proves he is healthy and plays well, he would have value at the TDL...even with 1yr left, cap is expected to go up significantly next year.

If he can play a regular shift and score 20 plus the Flyers can easily trade him at the deadline this year or any time after.

"It could get ugly at times".

It was already ugly last season, especially when Provorov and DeAngelo were on the ice together. Any short term analysis should mention that Provorov wasn't a good penalty killer and was below average defensively at 5on5 in 22-23. He played a lot of minutes, and did poorly in those minutes. Very AMac-esque.

- Feanor

I doubt his loss will be all that devastating.

Provy could be ugly at times himself, so will it really be that much different?

If the deal is a straight salary dump with or without retention for nothing in return then yes I do it, but if it costs the Flyers any type of value asset then nope.

I think Hayes has value, just not 7m value.

- Glak18

if the deal is not right, then you might have to wait for the TDL and hope he plays well. DB will have to tell Torts to play him, give him big minutes, who care if he bleeds chances.

I should have been more specific. If moving him with 50% salary retention for a low round pick (which is essentially just moving 3.5 million off the books), would that qualify as a solid move for the franchise?
- Sinisalo4vr

Any move that does not require them to add assets or buy him out, I am fine with.

If they let the kids play I am fine with Provorov being gone. If they sign another vet to a longterm deal I will not be happy.

But what about this scenario:

#7, #22 and Hart for #2.

Would the Flyers do it? Would Anaheim do it?

Flyers only get 1 player, but that could be a franchise center for them or knowing their luck he stays in college then leaves or becomes a bust...

Anaheim has a lot of young forwards already, not to mention they also have a decent crop of young defensemen. Also include they trade Gibson, which they receive a decent package for. Anaheim could be really scary with depth and a younger goaltender that fits better with their team.

It's a tough one.

- Glak18

With hart I included seems like a little much. Just my opinion

Love Hart but the price would have to be realistic and let's be honest, Briere is looking to load up on picks and prospects, don't blame him. Question is would he take a late first and a decent prospect? If the answer is no, MTL is most likely not an option
- Symba007

I don't know if he'd pull the trigger on a package like that, at least not right away. The goalie market is weird and Hellebucyk also reportedly being available complicates things. Not to mention, Hart is probably going to want to sign an extension with whoever trades for him so that could throw a wrench in any deal. I'm fine with keeping him, but I'm worried about committing to him full term and him regressing to his 2021 self or getting the nagging injuries which has been an issue. His value may never be higher than it is this offseason.

you hope DB's first move shows how he operates, he has a plan. There is no need to trade everyone in the off-season. Use TDL and the off-season, use salary retention and contract length to your advantage. Danny should have a list of who he is moving and when, based upon timing, if someone comes along that is really good, then damn the plan but you only have so many contracts you can hold salary on, you only have so much space to take on contracts. You have to be patient and know what all other 31 teams need and what their timelines might be. CF got none of this, seems, so far DB does.

I personally don't like that.

Even though I am not a fan of Hayes, he is still a 40-50 point middle 6 forward that plays center and wing.

If Hayes was making 3.6m would the team or the fans even think about trading him if they were a bubble team? I don't think anyone would have an issue with him then. Obviously I believe his value adjusts with the percent the Flyers retain.

The question is what is Hayes worth at 3.6m or 4m or 5m? At 3.6m he could of helped a few teams in this years playoffs. Personally I am looking at a low 1st or reasonable prospect for a 3.6m 40-50 point mid 6 forward. If someone is offering a 4th or 5th I am not retaining 50% at all.

Higher the pick or better the player the more you have to give. Do the Flyers target a player with higher chance of stardom or roll the dice with quantity over quality?

Also some decent options in UFA w/ Jarry, Hill, Andersen, Varmalov, Raanta and Korpisalo.

I agree that this deal is a great first step. I want them to go all in though. I hope they rip off the band aid.

You responded to him again one minute later.

So because the time flipped from 10:02am to 10:03am between the two messages I sent “hello it’s me”, you think it took me one minute to respond to him?

You deem yourself smarter than anyone on this message board and yet you don't understand the basic concept of how time works on this web site? That’s interesting, never mind that the two posts were side by side…

In this instance or what the proposal was I don’t trade. Hart by himself should add additional quality assets. With rebuilding we will have years. Who knows. Next year we could be picking first with our defense now. And I guess I look at prospects are just that u til proven in the nhl. But comes down to what can we get if hart is traded as well.

In no order:

york - Walker
Sanheim - RR
Seeler - Tony D

Does Attard or Zamula or whoever creep in that top 6? Assuming they don't sign or trade for a D

The 2 picks, especially the #22, will not get a top 3 pick with the players available.
