It’s a good trade and needed to get done. Now hart and hayes have to be focused on. I doubt sanheim or risto can be traded now |

Great return for Provy. Hopefully they can add more assets before this draft. |

Bill, do you remember if Andrae ever paired up with Grans in their times together on Team Sweden? |

I don't see any significant return for Hayes if they can even find a trade partner. |

Marvelous trade.
If couturier and Atkinson come back healthy this team makes noise.

How does trading Provorov make them better next year? |

not sure they will make noise but if Coots and Cam play well, the young legs in the lineup could surprise, I don't see them being a lottery team. From what I heard the and can someone chime in, the 25 draft is deeper than the 24? |

Not with this blueline. It was already suspect and they just tore a gaping hole in what they did have. The trade had to be made. But I'm just being real about the short-term. They've taken a step backward in the hopes of stepping forward in the big picture. |

agree about the hit to the blue line. Not sure why so many were down on Provie, but glad to get some picks back. next year we may be picking high again and just hope florida has a hangover so their pick looks better. |

Not sure why? Maybe the unforced turnovers and developmental wall and step back the guy took. He needs a new team, he peaked here and it wasn’t near what was expected. Perfect time to trade him |

Just curious what others think. If Montreal offered 5 for Hart would you do it. One for one. Player for pick. |

The unrealistic expectations have begun. As you said, this is not about this year. Indeed, apart from continuing the development of the kids, the Flyers would do well to (and should be expected to) have another down year.
If Cam Atkinson is proven to be healthy, he needs to be high on the list of Flyers to trade for assets. Probably at the trade deadline but a little more difficult since he has another year on his contract.

By adding the 22nd pick, I, personally, become more inclined to swing for the fences if Michkov is still available. Additionally, that may give the Flyers more leverage with Washington or Detroit if either is inclined to flip picks if they're more confident about their ability to bring him over than Briere would be. |

I was just curious.
Some people I get the sense want a big haul but I just want quality return. |

But what about this scenario:
#7, #22 and Hart for #2.
Would the Flyers do it? Would Anaheim do it?
Flyers only get 1 player, but that could be a franchise center for them or knowing their luck he stays in college then leaves or becomes a bust...
Anaheim has a lot of young forwards already, not to mention they also have a decent crop of young defensemen. Also include they trade Gibson, which they receive a decent package for. Anaheim could be really scary with depth and a younger goaltender that fits better with their team.
It's a tough one.

The highest pick a goalie has gone for "recently" was 9th-overall, and that was Schneider throwing up .930's at the time.
Hart's a .907 goalie. |
