Something to think about: does Matthews now want term after two wrist injuries?

That gonna really be what stands between him and a hundred million? He signs long term he's gonna likely see more than one coach, he goes somewhere else he's gonna see different coaches. I'm sure that's not gonna be what tips the scales.

The question was does he want to sign long term now.

Florida got curbstomped last night.

If Bob doesn't get back into the zone, start planning the parade in Vegas.

Maybe if he thinks his production will fall off a cliff in the next three years. If he remains one of the top players in the league he potentially makes a lot more going 3 and 8 year deals.

I don't think Bob in the zone could help now.
Vegas has this in the bag.

Looking at the goals, I don't think Bob could do much on most of them.

Always a Golden Knight right in his face blocking his view. Florida needs to clear the front of the net if they want to come back in this series.

Guy that outscored him signed his contract 6 years ago. Guy that is signing now is signing now.

You can tell your kids those old man stories about filling grocery carts for a couple hundred bucks in 2017.

ok. Mackinnon outscored by 26 in less games without key teammates. When did he sign?

I don't see how he will ever recover from this humiliation.

Who'd have thought Florida's players overplaying wouldn't last forever? Like that D isn't good. Tkachuk getting 20 mins of misconduct penalties isn't good for the "superstar everyone wants on their team".

But maybe they turn it around at home in Sunrise.

I was asked and I delivered the receipt. Not supposed to be humiliating. Many people probably believed Bobrovsky would be a pumpkin again at some point.

Yeah, it's not like Matthews has bet on himself at literally every turn or something. Oh wait. That's exactly what he's done.

Been doing it since before he was even drafted, in going over to the Swiss league. It's unlikely he'll stop now.

Trust me, I'd much prefer him to sign a max term deal.

To be fair...that move was all about making money and just furthers the point (valid or otherwise) that Mr. Stache is ALL about DA MONEY.

Or, he was better prepared to enter the NHL after a year playing against men than he would have been playing in the WHL. Plus how do give up a chance to be coached by Marc Crawford?

It's a better comparison.

Mac just gave up years 28-35 for 12.6 per year.

Matthews will be years 27-34 or less if he goes less years.

But he knows Leon and McDavid are going to raise the bar in 2 or 3 years with a bigger cap. I think that's why people assume he'll go shorter term.

Honestly its a wait and see here with Treliving. Give him credit he is playing it pretty close to the vest and just making the rounds like he said he wanted and needed to. Talking to Keefe, Matthews etc.

The rumor of adding Doan to the front office was a curious and interesting one.

I think we hear something on Keefe closer to the draft, end of June. There's still a few very good options with Lavy, Gallant, etc out there. One that could be curious is Bylsma who has first year Coachella in the Calder finals vs Hershey. Keefe has a winning record, just can't seem to get more out of the guys. Sometimes it isn't about if the coach is the best guy, but if they feel he has hit his shelf life and is being tuned out. Sometimes you HAVE to change a guy. I feel with his lineup issues, being outcoached and outsmarting himself, and having been there so long it likely is just time for a shake up and change.

After that it is anybody's guess on the roster and what players will be kept, moved, brought in etc. I dont think Matthews isnt going to re-sign and stay and be here. In fact wouldn't be surprised to see him sign, and JT hand over the C and have Matthews as captain with Marner as an Assistant.

Still totally wait and see.
