Next year ought to be even better for you guys with that core and all your cap space! And you have a shrewd GM that ought to find you another scorer and either re-sign one of your UFA goalies or bring in a new brick wall! Your just a couple pieces away and hopefully less injuries!

If healthy I think they are still playing. A legit 2C is needed pretty badly. They still had a wide open contention window.

I'm a Pens fan. Just like the Hurricanes team the most out of everyone else in the Metro. Good front office and fan base. They'll be contenders next year too.

Is Carolina’s problem the lack of elite players capable of stepping up and leading the team to victory when the game is on the line, or is it that Brind’Amour’s system, as efficient as it may be, does not allow the freedom for an elite player to take over a game in key moments in the playoffs? Or both?
