got what they deserved as in all the non calls and horrible penalties..
yes we lost but we got the raptors treatment which is a joke, Toronto never has to win to be the best franchise.. win or lose we bring so much money to this league..
good luck with the rebuild look fwd to the Flyers being good again hopefully sooner then later..
The Raptors treatment? This made laugh. For some reason all your favorite teams get bad calls I guess...
Did you see the bad strike call on the Blue Jays batter the other day?

wow, 4-1 series win for FLA, I guess the refs must have really blown those 4 games for the leafs... not to mention the previous 19 years

considering the refs gifted the leafs the series against tampa his comment was golden - 2Real
I by no means think that Toronto was the better team than Tampa in the first round, they got mostly outplayed and some lucky bounces gave them the series win.
Bunting got suspended 3 games for an elbow that should have been 1-2 max. In game 1 with Tampa up big the Leafs started turning the tide scoring 2 goals in the second period. Then Wes McCauley started calling ticky tack penalties on them that took the wind out of their sails.
Yes, there was a missed high stick at the end of game 5 that should have been a penalty. To me that makes up for the phantom high stick resulting in a 5 on 3 for Tampa allowing them to tie up game 6 last year.
The Leafs weren't gifted a damn thing in the first round. They were just damn lucky to make it to the 2nd round.
If I was McJesus I would demand a trade. He won't but he should. He will never win in Edmonton. They do not have a team they have star power and you need a team to win a Cup. Mario did not have that early in his time but slowly they built a TEAM around him. Edm does not have that Top heavy with no supporting cast. You cannot build a team without a good foundation. Just like building a house. The foundation matters and they just do not do that and leadership (coaching) is very much lacking.
They do not have the top D man either. Nurse is not that guy. Nugent Hopkins looked lost. Last night in the second period was a shame. Those refs made sure that the OIL was not going to get powerplay situations. They put their whistles away. Again goaltending wins in the playoffs. Pittsburgh had the Rangers beaten last year and were playing their third string goalie but in the end there is a reason he was a third stringer Mentally more so that physically Third stringers are just that for many reasons MAF was physically great Mentally not so much. Brain dead in many clutch situations and he was supposed to be the answer. Number one overall pick in his draft year and why did Team Canada never call his name THEY DID NOT TRUST HIM EITHER. The mental game is what separated the men from the boys. Just like golf All of those guys have physical attributes but the guys with mental toughness separate themselves from the others. Just think about it You will know what I say is TRUE - broncohorvath
The payout to Nurse is going to be an issue for this team. With the offensive firepower this team has, to shell out 9.25 to a guy who had previously topped out at 41 points is not proving ideal. He's a 6M defenseman, and pairing him with Ceci, whose defensive liabilities are well documented, is a recipe for disaster. With Ekholm/Bouchard poised to take over as the top pair next season, Edmonton needs to find a righty who fits Nurse's game ASAP (Mayfield, Gudas, Holl, Erik Johnson are UFAs that could be thought through) shed Ceci and Desharnais, and explore options to replace Yamamoto. Matvei Petrov is looking like a sneaky late round grab, and Lavoie, Bourgault, and Philp could all come up to replace Bjugstad, Ryan, Shore. Hope most change in the bottom 6 comes from within, and on the blue line without. You're kinda stuck running these goaltenders but I'd bet Campbell bounces back - it's hard to be that bad that consistently. It's rinse & repeat for this group.
Pens don't win those 2 of those 3 cups without Fleury. He had some bad moments in the playoffs but he also had some great ones. - lemieux_66
Nope Should have won more if he was as good as YOU think he was Why did team Canada never come calling??????? Answer that one I dare you
I won ONE by himself And he lost some other ones single handed Look it up He could not be trusted and will never win again
Agreed... I'm really not sure why some people have difficulty processing the reality of a team sport where the best players are typically not on the playing surface for over >60% of the game. Draisaitl was unbelievable in Games 1 & 2 but then vanished. Scoring 6G in the first two games doesn't make up for scoring just 1A in the next four games, and it doesn't average out... any more than playing really well for 58:30min matters when you give up 3G in the other 90 seconds.
VGK deserves credit for adapting their game, and figuring out how to contain these guys enough to win 4 games. They did a very similar thing to COL a couple of years back, when they lost Game 1 by a score of 7-1 and then lost Game 2 as well... only to come back and win 4-straight to win the series. They limited the Avalanche to just 8 goals in those 4 games, and MacKinnon didn't register a point in 3 of those 4 games.
Yes, they deserve a better media landscape than these ratings grifters on TSN and SportsNet. The idea some are ready to move from Mathews is pure sensationalism.

Are you dumb or just purposefully ignoring the fact that he has a gold olympic medal for team Canada. Sure, he didn't play a game but he was playing behind Broduer and Luongo, 2 of the best ever. He also played for team Canada at the world juniors.
They couldn’t play defense when needed. They can score but were stopped by a good defense. Learn. Build better. Can’t rely on 3 players to win a cup. It takes a team. I’m rooting for the Kracken now

Speaking of TSN and Sportsnet they finally decided to show the OHL Final tonight, you'd think if these 2 teams prominent players were leaf prospects they would be falling over themselves to air the games - In any other situation they'd be airing the games simply because it's the OHL final but the prominent players on these teams are Habs prospects and all the sudden the games aren't important? I guess they figured leaf fans have suffered enough and are scared they might see upcoming highend Habs prospects or something I don't know what their logic is but it's a poopty one
