Maybe KD can look at signing an RFA? - paulr
Nah. This team is not in a position yet to do something like that.
Getting to the cap floor will not be an issue. They can trade for two LTIR contracts and pretty much be there wil signing their own RFA. Heck, they can get Seabrook back. lol |

Domi $5,000,000? gets you about half way to the cap floor.
Toews? Although it is likely he retires. You could give him a $5 mil 35+ contact with performance bonuses.
Take on a bad contract or two?
Sign/overpay for a player or two?
Here is a crazy idea. Trade for Bobrovsky 1/2 salary retained (along with Florida's 2nd round picks and 4th round picks in 2025). Then retain 1/4 of his salary ($2.5 mil for 3 more years) and trade him for another 2nd round pick. - -Doh-
I think your idea of signing Caleb Jones is even crazier. I rather they give the money to Tinordi and Englund. Tinordi misses half the season anyway and we all have seen enough of the Joneses |

Sean Monahan
Tyler Bertuzzi
Alexander Kerfoot
JT Compher
There's some nice forward targets out there that are still young and not cost too much. - TommyHawk
He is done. He can't stay healthy anymore. He is prolly going to be offered vet min. type of contracts.
Bertuzzi sucks and is oft-injured, too.
Kerfoot and Compher will more than likely find playing time from contenders for the same or less money. |

Sign Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Brendan Lemieux and then next season there can be "Do you remember when" nights all the time. - powerenforcer
I like that idea . went to the fights and a hockey game broke out . |

If you look at my posts throughout the year I am not a Caleb Jones fan, far from it. I would be very happy if AA, C. Jones, and Khaira were not on the team next year. But I think AA and C. Jones will be on it unfortunately.

Perhaps Jake Wise is a tad better than AHL material. Curious if he still wants to play here. I don’t believe he needs much AHL preparation time and he might become a solid two way player. Prior to signing to attend BC, he had been a big scorer with a good shot. Wise would be an inexpensive add and a “wise” choice as far as I can see. As well, you don’t want to sign too many previous drafts at same time. Let some marinate where they are for another season. And if the # of contracts is near the limit because a few guys turn pro, I think we could cut bait with Teoly in favor of Wise |

Wise could be added to the mix. But he does not look like a big addition and he does not help us get to the cap floor. They probably need a couple of players in the $3 mil category. Like Domi Last year. (not AA)

Teams with cap issues next season may be current teams which Dallas, Minnesota, NYI stand out for older, mid career and even fairly still young players are cast aside. Some of those teams have re-upped with emerging young stars. Just to pull names out without knowing how practical:
Dallas has committed to some young scorers…..is Ottinger taken care of? Do they like Dellandrea? Faksa available?

Every time I read a Caleb Jones quote I can't get over how cocky this kid is for having accomplished very little in the NHL. What an ego. In those team/player nominations he wanted to nominate himself for all the awards. He's just lucky Seth is on this team or else he'd be running a mens league in BFE Alberta. |

Nice Vlasic has been called up and Toews is skating with the team. |

Be nice to see 19 get one last game with the team in front of the fans before he's done. |

Considering taking the day off from work to see him play one last time
Possibly Blackhawks won’t confirm he is in lineup until the lineup cards are exchanged?
Toews has always been Johnny B Good although his health condition last few years has caused him to put forth lesser effort sometimes on ice. I will ignore whether he was one of the boys with the mean mouthing off to Beach back all those years ago. If he was, what goes around comes around. So I will call him a great warrior and any possible past transgression I do not have proof thereof, so I won’t say he was anything less than a warrior for his team and as the Captain |

he doesn't look good.....in the interview in person. Looks bloated and tired. Needs to listen to his body and hang them up. Get one last victory lap....get his number rightfully retired in the UC and go find something he enjoys. Does he stay in the game and work for a front office? I could see it.
Just happy it's trending the way he can go out on his own accord. |

Having had an autoimmune disease myself a few years ago, I know firsthand that I was extremely fatigued, sleeping 15 to 20 hours a day. Then when I began taking medication for it, including a steroid based drug called prednisone, I was even more tired and I became bloated and always felt nauseous and developed burning blisters all over my body. Once I weaned off the prednisone I felt so much better. But it took almost three years to get back to normal. Obviously I have no idea about Toews sickness or what medication he’s on but I can sympathize if it’s anything like I went through. |
