I thought they looked good in the first 6 minutes and the last 6 minutes......and then in OT. But for the middle 48 minutes.....

And they get 2 points. So…….

SOrOkin keeps it close. They get screwed to go to 3-1. The team bares down and tie it and then get the extra point. Awesome win for the TEAM!
Wouldn’t want to play this team in the POs

Sorokin is a game changer and is what we hoped he would be

I think saying the first six minutes may be a bit generous but hey all is forgiven now.

Said it before Sorokin is the best goalie this team has ever had.

Best one since Smith, I’d say. The game is completely different now from then so it’s hard to make a true comparison but Sorokin is pretty elite for this generation of hockey. Smitty won 4 cups, was the heart and soul of those teams and was tough as nails. We haven’t had an elite goalie in terms of generations in 40 years.

Gotta say it...we all had this team for dead just a few weeks back...now they seem like they are destined to reach the playoffs and what happens after that...who knows

100% and the team doesn’t give up. Gotta love the grit in this game.

Yeah the game has changed so much since Smith so it’s kind of a silly debate and I’m aware me making that comment kind of invites debate on an islanders page of course. But not to take anything away from Smith in anyway but I don’t think there’s any comparison talent wise. Sorokin is another level imo. Sorokin is completely capable of winning a cup with the right team in front of him. He could do it with half the team then that Islanders club imo. There’s not a doubt in my mind. I say that with full respect for Smith and what he did of course.

Team got a 2nd wind from the Horvat trade. Team needed an impact move for a while.

When Barzal went down I folded up the chairs and threw them in the back of the truck.

I saw something Martin said about the trade that is definitely part cliché, part rah rah, but he’s been right so far. He said something along the lines of seeing management add instead of subtract and the fact they’re all veterans who have been far into the playoffs a few times was gonna give them some added motivation because, I’m paraphrasing, how many more times will they get to do this?

Now, saying and doing are two different things and they’re doing. And, full credit, they looked like complete poop from the 1st Lee goal until the start of the 3rd period. Playing in Pittsburgh in, close to, a must win game and they still found a way. Lee didn’t even look that excited when he tied it up which, to me, is always a good sign.

Finding a way is key. It’s also more P.O. type hockey. Bare down and get it done.

Aho might have had his best game of the year. He still scares me in his own end sometimes but he is slowly proving me wrong 😑

I also noticed him for some good plays, advancing the puck, etc. There's still hope for him....

He made a couple of noticeable nice defensive plays in our end in the third.
