Would love for the isles to face them and bounce them. - Nfdbulldawg

On a different topic Beau has found himself a nice fit in Vancouver. He has 6 goals and 5 assists in 13 games. Pretty impressive. Happy for the kid. - nyisles7
He has fit in very nice on the top line. Noticeable every shift.
You Isle fans need some good results from the make up games ops have in on hand on you.
Canucks need the 1st pick to be late as possible 😂👍 |

Hopefully we can stay in the hunt till Pageau an Barzal are back. We should have 4 solid lines when they return.

Yeah he’s pretty much all around awesome imo. One of Lou’s best signings as far as I’m concerned. - Cptmjl
Agreed Parise is a keeper, especially for the price. |

Seems obvious that Kouvula will sit if JPP can go on Tuesday. I can't help but wonder who will go down when Barzy comes back. Probably Simon...maaaaaybe Chainz?
Clutterbuck has been skating....I wish I could say I was excited about his return. |

I think Koivula is definitely the no-brainer guy getting benched if/when Pageau can go. When Barzal is back? Have to think Holmstrom but I don't think it's out of the question that Bailey may sit. Holmstrom is definitely not going back to BPT. Even if Barzal is back and Bailey plays, I could see him getting scratched at some point in favor of Holmstrom
A healthy Pageau would be a huge add for a massively-important game tomorrow night
I'd guess we'd see:

Ultimately they will have to send Koivula down, and put Martin back on the 4th, no? It appears that Bailey is the 13th forward shamefully.

Isles just need to win...bottomline and not worry about anyone else.
Looking at the schedule however, they can add separation with wins in the next three. I would project them to be more playoff style games given that 4 pts is on the line for each of them - Nfdbulldawg
Keep that spot nice and warm for us. We have three games in hand and only need to win two of them to overtake you, and we play Chicago tonight and you guys next week.....muahahahahahahahahahahahaha....
We're actually confident in our team now too, just need a consistent showing from our goalies (e.g. <2.60 GAA, >.900 Save%) and we're in good shape. Haven't scored less than 5 goals in over 5 games.
Hamburglar 2.0, this time with the run led by Chyyyyyyyyyyych and Chong-chuk. Awwww yeah,

My take as a distant observer on the Isles this year:
Sorokin has been really solid and Nelson has had a phenomenal year and if they get hot you may pull this out, but there's no one on the team who when I watch I'm saying "oh no, it's Horvat with the puck...we can't stop him." Feels like a team where the league is starting to lap them in terms of star power, a bit like the Penguins...
Enjoy the games!

Big loss for Buffalo! - potvin05
Chicago leading Ottawa 3-0 despite having only seven shots so far
*Edit 4-0.: Ottawa gave up about four 2 on 1's in a matter of 3 min. |

These guys seem to think it's just between the Isles and the Sabres. Did they forget Ottawa? - JohnScammo
The race obviously won't be decided Tuesday, and it doesn't just involve Buffalo and New York. There are five weeks left in the regular season, and the Sabres and Islanders -- along with the Penguins, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers and Washington Capitals - are battling for playoff positioning as well.

Why not. It always makes for an interesting read.
On another note...The Isles can start to pull away from the pack this week with some key victories.

Okay. Thanks, I think?
Yup, if the Isles somehow win their next few games in regulation, they will find themselves in the driver's seat and likely heading for the playoffs. |
