If they move Horvat to Center then It's like starting all over again trying to find someone to play with Barzal. I'm not against moving JGP but it's gotta be the right deal. - Vukota
Not necessarily saying I support the decision, but Barzal-Horvat-Nelson-Cizikas down the middle is an upgrade over the current centers.
If it did happen, I would have to assume that the $10M in additional cap space Lou gained would go towards adding a true winger for Barzal by either signing or trade.
I still very much like the idea of Schmaltz, just don't know what he'd cost and if we could afford it. |

That's a dangerous assumption
In theory, though, it wouldn't be the worst thing to do to free up some money and get new blood in there. The only thing is, Barzal and Horvat seemed to have been developing a bit of chemistry before Barzal went down, and it's not always easy to find players that get his style, so it'd really depend on who else is brought in.

^ This. Horvat is really good at finding space and quickly getting off a shot. Barzy is extremely good at creating space for others and getting them the puck. They looked really good together and I see no reason to not rejoin them, provided Barzy has enough time to get up to speed |

Certainly possible and, again, I'm not pushing for it. Just not entirely sure the plan is to keep Horvat a winger forever. Maybe Barzal eventually moves or maybe they just keep the current arrangement. Or maybe they want to add another center with a little more offensive output than Pageau. No idea what'll happen. |

Even though Levy and Cohn are both unabashed Rangers fans, the network was waaaaay better with this sport in the 90s and so on. Even Melrose wasn’t horrible.
Everything that network/ABC/Disney touches now is poop. |

I was thinking more along the lines of a buyout or not - Vukota
Ah, okay, that might make sense under the right circumstances. Personally, everything else being equal, I would rather just let next season be their last. The problem with a buyout is that it spreads out the pain. I would rather just rip off the band-aid at the end of next season. |

Totally agree.
Barzal playing wing with Horvat in the middle has worked extremely well. Not only in the offensive side of the puck but also in the D zone. Horvat playing center in the D zone, battling in front of the net, behind the net and the corners frees up Barzal to break out quickly with the puck.
I think they will reunite the line again once Barzal returns. |

Definitely. It's not like anyone else has really taken that spot and ran with it. Lee's been OK on the left side doing his thing, but the right side has been more of a question mark. |
