Gotta give credit to Sweeney for his trades and for Neely to replace Cassidy.
It blew my mind when Cassidy was let go.

Sweeney started off so bad, but has been better every year as a GM. Thought this year they would be out of playoffs by Thanksgivine. Bringing in Zacha in off season was great, and I liked Haula. Bringing in Mongomery made so much bigger of a difference than anyone expected. His deadline moves were awesome. Props to Sweeney big time.

Great win, Rags are a good team. Once Kane meshes in they'll be dangerous in playoffs.

It's crazy. I was disgusted when they fired Cassidy especially in the bungling manner that they did. I just looked as though Neely and Sweeney were not on the same page and the front office did not have their poop together.

I definitely regained some patience with them when they hired Montgomery. I thought for sure Sweeney's love affair with all things NCAA and the fact McAvoy and Gryz had a connection that Quinn was going to be auto hired. Which would've been disastrous.

Montgomery has won at every level. Though he ran into some trouble (as we all do) his performance was very clear with Dallas and St. Louis(
) Bringing him onboard has been a massive win. That move alone is Sweeney's best move to date. I should've been more patient with them. Nice to be proven wrong here.

How many times over have the Rangers done moves like this? I'll believe if it actually happens and not a moment sooner.

Wasn't thrilled at the time with the firing of Cassidy, especially the optics of it. However Monty has been a great add and has even brought me around on Foligno a little bit (made him relevant again). Sad to see Foligno get hurt when he was doing so well.

Cassidy has had a few good years at the deadline. It has paid off and he deserves credit for those positive changes. This is a special team this year, and he is swinging for the fences to win it all. Good on him.

I am enjoying the year, and glad I was wrong about this year. The post Bergy/Krejci years still give me anxiety, but we will have plenty of time to talk about that later. Enjoying the ride. They can keep their jobs for now.

Monty has given this team exactly what it has been missing from both Julien and Cassidy, scoring up and down the lineup. He is so good at playing to player strengths, and he has done well optimizing what is now an embarrassment of riches in talent on the roster.

Side note, did not know Orlov had such a cannon. Dude is playing like he wants to win. Even loved Hathaway sticking up for his teammate the other night. Every line is going to be a pain in the ass to play against and I love it.

Yeah, to be honest I’m not sold on Patrick Kane being a factor in the East playoffs. He’s been coasting for a while now.

I'm sure he'll settle in, but I just don't buy it from the Rangers. They do this periodically where they load up on superstars (aging ones typically) and then fail spectacularly.

They can't all be Scor-lov!

Bruins have been lights out this season. Just as Panthers were last season.
Every team goes through a slump during a season.
Panthers had theirs in round 2 of the playoffs.
Bruins haven't had a slump this season and it's due.

Lost to the Oil - well they have improved and are fighting for playoffs.

Lost to Detroit??

Lost to ... ... Chicago? FFS they traded away their marquee player.

Bruins just gonna mail it in for rest of season? They may have clinched a spot - but other teams can still take 1st overall with a winning streak.

A nice slide right now and the leafs could overtake first in division.

Aslong as the leafs stop losing to loser teams too

Was a lazy few games. Hopefully the loss to Chicago of all teams is a wake up call. Playoff spot or no, this kind of hockey isnt winning any games in the post season. Need to get back to their game.
