He’s not a prospect that will be ready in 2026, a son of a friend of Adam’s or from WNY so we won’t be acquiring him…. |

I agree - and love me some Tom Wilson, but...here is my counter argument....
Wilson is 28 years old. He has won a Cup. The Caps simply aren't going to be competitive with the roster they have to the foreseeable future (next 3 - 5 years) - the roster is just too old, and the money/contract term still owed to Ovi, Backstrom, Carlson, Kuznetzov, Kuemper, and Oshie prohibits a reload on the fly. Wilson's value is at its high-point right now. He is the X-factor that may take a team from the fringe of the playoffs to a legitimate contender - Buffalo may be that team. If they were agreeable to sending legitimate young assets to the Caps (Mittelstadt and Power) + a first, that may set the Caps up to go forward.
As much as I would hate to see the Caps ship Tom off, that is a deal that would be hard to refuse.

Zero chance the Sabres part with Power. Doubt Buffalo trades for Wilson. |

I'm more than fine with him remaining on the Capitals...the Sabres are the team initiating this. I'm just telling you the cost to get the deal done. Don't like it? Fine - shop somewhere else.

Doubt the Sabres are initiating anything. Kevin is taking a nap and our fax machine is broken. |

Adam’s is gleefully telling everyone to remain calm. Bryson and the rest of the tea will have valuable lessons from losing a chance at the playoffs for the first time in 12 years |

Sabres won’t part with power, but I think mittelstadt, olofson, Jokiharu and they have 3 second round picks if they really like Wilson to choose from. |

I am more than OK with Tom Wilson remaining on the Capitals. Dahlin is an alternative to Power. But, I thought that he would be a bit much
I doubt it too...but now you know the price - at least the price as coming from this Caps fan. |

Very much agree with you, but I’d lean more towards Oshie being traded than Wilson. Unless the return is way more than Nashville got for Jeannot, then Wilson is here for the unforeseeable future. Anything is possible! Just hope it doesn’t happen. |

There are not many players in the NHL the Sabres would trade Owen Power for. Tom Wilson is not in the top 100. |
