I think Toews is traded but not Kane, then its 50/50 #88 returns for next season.
Murphy, McCabe, Domi, J Johnson, and maybe Raddysh would be biggest trade targets at the TDL. |

Domi, McCabe, Kane, and Johnson are goners @ TDL. Murphy has too much term and Toews also stays and signs an extension, my $0.02… per JJ from his source. |

It would actually be more beneficial to trade for him to make Edmonton pay for cap relief. |

Think Buffalo would just wait on Kane when he he's a FA. How about Murphy
Philadelphia's 2023 2nd Josh Bloom and 2024 4th |

This is probably why the Oilers may be trying the waivers tactic first -to see if they can find a taker for free. Otherwise it will cost them to move him in a trade. They are up against the Cap and have to make a move to accommodate Yamamoto who is due to come off LTIR very soon. Yamamoto was placed on waivers to allow Evander Kane to come off LTIR previously. Oilers are up against the Cap and are being forced to make a move soon. |

And KD or anyone else would look ridiculous to pick him up via the waiver wire. Maybe you can move player X to the oilers for a second, but picking up Puljujarvi in the trade may force Edmonton to bump that draft pick to a first.
No idea what Edmonton are looking for but that $3M cap hit of Puljujarvi‘s makes it difficult for them to manoeuvre. |

I was in on Josh Bloom until he didn't appear in the Athletic's top 15 Buffalo prospects. Would be better IMO to include a better prospect.

I wonder if this is the same source that Darth was referencing for the two second rounders KD balked at for The Captain? 🤔 |

Darth’s mistake, he should have consulted with Bob. |

Yeah was a bit surprised, but it's not because he's bad it's just we have a lot of decent prospects. But we could work on that part of the deal. |

I expected the Hawks to take him back in any trade with Edmonton.
He could be a roster-filler next season, another 1 year @ $3 million per type of forward. He'd be a bottom-6 forward for sure, his value would be in helping the Hawks get to the cap floor.

Erik Portillo is a Buffalo prospect with watching. If he doesn't sign with the Sabres he'll become a UFA in the summer. The Hawks have some good goaltending prospects, but you can never have too many. Soderblom will play in the NHL next season, Portillo can man the pipes in Rockford with Commesso (if he doesn't go back to BU). |

By no means am I laughing at Kane. He deserves nothing but praise for what he's meant and brought to the Hawks. I'm laughing at the situation. So strange the cards that life deals you.

Kane on the Rangers' acquisition of Tarasenko:
"It’s not like the happiest I’ve been to hear about a trade.
If things were going to happen, that was a team I was definitely looking at. It seems like they filled their void and went ahead and made a deal. So it is what it is." |

More Kane: "In fairness to Kyle [Davidson], I haven't went to Kyle and said, 'I wanted to go here [or] I want to [stay]. I haven't gotten to any of that yet... I think within the next 10 days or so, we'll probably get a clearer picture of what's going to happen."
He said if he does request a trade (which seems extremely implied at this point), it'll be to one of just a few teams.
"You sign a contract with a...no-trade clause for a reason, right? Else I would’ve done a 16-team no-trade clause."
