Wiz,
I get it, that trade hurt, but I’ll take that 2013 cup. - Angotti
Yeah the thrill of the 2013 cup far exceeds a terrible trade. |

Don't buy it, they panicked after the Islanders move, in my world it would be great if the New Jersey ended up with Kane - BetweenTheDots
I was just saying that the Rangers preferred Tarasenko over Kane all things considered. (younger and perhaps without health questions and better numbers this season)
I was not comparing Kane, Tarasenko, Horvat, and Meier as a group. |

Not sure what to think about Kane and Toews? I think a number of other guys, McCabe, Domi, Murphy, AA, Johnson etc will be moved probably close to or on Trade Deadline day. - paulr
Each situation is different. Cap hit, length of contract, team control, asking price, health, stats, NMC’s, intangibles, track record in playoffs, expectations for next contract ….. Although there are maybe 7 likely Hawk trade candidates, I would put the over under at 3 Hawks being moved at the TDL. No clue as to which 3. |

Does anyone think KD is finalizing a complicated deal for Toews and he is not really sick. Or
could they just be playing him off and on to avoid injury risk. |

Don't know how they can prefer Tarasenko when you know Kane and Panarin have chemistry |

Maybe Toews will fly up to Winnipeg with the team, be traded en route, and suit up for the Jets Saturday night.

I really hope we get something for Kane and Toews. |

No 3-0 for Stauber since Hawks aren't playing any semblance of defense
Since Seth Jones hasn't had to use the splint on his thumb he actually looks pretty good in the ozone |

Kane to Toronto or Vegas
Towes to Winnipeg or Colorado
McCabe and domi to Toronto
Jack Johnson to Colorado
AA to Tampa
Lafferty to NY rangers or Edmonton
All of these are just my own opinion what the returns would be is anybodies guess. |

I thought I'd give Vosters another chance after the all star break, glad that he's toned it down some every time there is a shot on goal, he's more tolerable in the past 2 games |

Timo meier trade if it happens will be interesting whatever team gets him and wants to keep him will have to pay a big qualifying offer much like debricant. Imo Buffalo gets meier along with Reimer from San Jose. Murphy would be a great fit for Buffalo also. |

AA scores! Maybe we can get an 8th round pick for him. |

Don’t understand why Roos is a healthy scratch for the game bs Milwaukee tonight. He was sent to Rockford during NHL all star break then I didn’t see him recalled. His contract calls for permission to be sent to AHL. He deserves an opportunity in the NHL Roos spent enough time in AHL this season and he needs to show his worthiness in the NHL
At Rockford when everyone is healthy they have each as a prospect on their blue line plus retread A Clenndenning as the veteran. Their box score tonight shows Regula is playing so he returned from injury. If Roos is a healthy scratch then Davidson risks disenfranchising a prospect who has looked ok or just not bad for the most part in his NHL games
If a NHL Django is traded, my wish is to keep both a Mitchell and Roos in lineup and let us see how they fare Phillips and other men in Rockford can remain in AHL to develop more the remainder of their his season |

I have gone up and down on him all season. He is from southwest of Buffalo, btw.
In the summer U-18 he was clearly a big kid with plenty of upside and impactful offensive ability but looked like he was negligent of his end or playing an active role as an attacker besides just wanting to score and set things up. He clearly looked like a guy thinking his attributes were enough and the other parts of the game were less worthy of him. Over the season, the coach carousel there he seemed to apply myself better and now I like him a lot.
Here is his profile I wrote on Lines.com:
This prospect is like a new romantic relationship-eventually the petals fall off and you see things in a more realistic perspective. USA born prototypical power wing who was selected first overall in the OHL draft by Sudbury in 2021. So many times when you hear "future prototypical forward" attached to prospects, you equate that as a good player in battle zones who takes advantage of the loose pucks in close. Well, this kid is also a play-maker who skates and handles pucks well, and has the wheels and wherewithal to create chances for himself and teammates from most places in the attack zone. In his first season in the OHL, he displayed all three S's : Skating Skill Scoring. Unfortunately, the Spring 2022 Ivan Hlinka-Gretzky Under-17 tournament he displayed another S - he struggled to play with increased intensity, effort and no sustained team play, as he looked like an individual out there. Furthermore, great skating, scoring ability, and skill set doesn't make you a complete hockey player. As this season began, he didn’t work hard on the back check and did a lot of coasting and did very little away from the puck, so if he isn't scoring, he was a non-factor towards winning. He has improved but the Wolves coaching carasal that has him playing with a third head coach added to the adversity. He finally established the top of player who he is and settled into finally showing the signs of being the dominant winger we thought he could evolve into as a pro. Has great vision and is showing the high end distribution skills he has besides scoring ability. He uses his big body and uses it to shield his pucks in his carries. Didn’t always have excellent jump, improving his first few steps, but when he's going, his top end speed is really good. His biggest improvements are away from the puck, where he has become a dogged puck retriever, intense in his board battles and displaying a quick stick. He has excellent finishing ability around the twine and very heavy shot. There is plenty of work to be done but may also be a big payoff. - wiz1901
Thanks Wiz great info .Sounds like a kid with lots of tools just needs to mature a bit .

I don't think there's anyway they trade all those players.
Everyone needs to check their expectations.
I'm guessing two guys max are traded.
But you know if KD doesn't trade 7 guys he'll be a failure..... |

I know it's Black History Month, but why the reference to a Jamie Foxx movie?

Frank Nazar is active for Michigan tonight, making his debut! He’s centering the third line of 2 other NHL prospects. - TommyHawk
Wow, great news!!! If he stays healthy he'll get enough games in to be ready for the Frozen Four.
