Nah. I went and looked at his numbers.
No thank you.
Also hard pass on Ryan O'Reilly. Jeepers. - BINGO!
You want more offensive consistency than Toews will provide? I actually think PIT would fit well with Toews.

Toews defensive numbers are nearly as bad as Kanes this season too. That's not all on him, but he's cooked.
Toews has played 70 minutes more than Paul Stastny with the same number of even strength points, but has half the number of High Danger Chances For and five times as many giveaways while also taking twice as many penalties. |

OK sure, but did Statsny play most of the year with linemates from the Helen Keller institute and defensemen that can't complete a pass out of the zone, or skate? |

Still want Toews? Not skating agins this AM - LAHawk
His past big health issue is flaring up
Good guess?
With St Louis cutting bait and lowering their payroll, Leddy could be had....unless he us viewed as a future asset only in retaining.his salary helps meet the cap ceiling |

So you are saying Toews playing on the Canes he would have more points than Stsatny? Toews would get more High Danger Chances? Yes he would look better playing on the Canes team than the current Blackhawks team. Everyone knows that.

I'm saying Paul Stastny has looked barely playable at times and Toews numbers are even worse. It's a pass. |

Each GM most likely can see red flags around not only Kane but now Toews as well.
I mean they need assurance that Toews is not MIA lately due to a flare up with his auto immune situation
Or whatever ails the Captsin, is not long term or serious. |

Patrick Kane feels his hip injury is overblown: "Yeah, I think so. I'm not sure what the story is to be honest with you, but I feel better than I did last year. It's just one of those things that maybe the story leaks out and it piles up a little bit." #Blackhawks
I'm sure there is hedging, and half-truths on all sides here, but maybe we all wait to actually hear facts before stating things like Kane is getting surgery, and Toews previous illness is back. |

Hey LA Hawk,
Is this doable if Blake determines that McCabe is the dmannhe wants most:
McCabe, our #3 '23 and we retain part of McCabe salary for their #1 '23. LA might wind up with one of the highest point totals, making their #1 a bit less hard to trade.
On the other hand, LA might really want at least a mid second round choice if they surrender their #1. In this scenario Chicago has to trade a different player for a middle of round two draft choice, then flip it with McCabe for their #1 '23. |

I think Kane is shocked that the Rangers did not wait on him to make a decision, which as Dots pointed out once Horvat went to the Islander's, the arms race began, with or without Kane.
Toews IMO in the games he has played this year for the most has coasted, and gets tired quite quickly. I am sure the teams interested in him know this, and are looking at Toews as depth/not in a prominent role. If lucky, the Hawks get a 2nd rounder and a B prospect for him.

Unfortunately, from what I have been reading lately, the Kings #1 target is Chychrun. If they don't land him they are looking at Edmondson. I don't think they are looking at McCabe, and if they do, they won't give up much.

I can see why teams are jumping the gun. The Isles are fighting just to get in, so more games with the improved team should increase their chances of making it. The Rangers are a solid third in their division. I'm sure they want to be in a better position going into the postseason. And if for some odd reason they stumble badly between now and the deadline, they can always flip the assets they acquired. |

Wow I was sure Kane was going to NYR iT seemed to be a perfect fit .If Toews and Kane are here after the trade deadline and walk for nothing KD needs to be relieved of his duties .I still believe there are deals to be made for both those players .I am still a little Shakey on KD being the man to lead this rebuild ,my pick would always be Mark Hunter . GO HAWKS lose one tonight in regulation! |

Why? They have NMC so KD has no authority to move them. Unless we are told otherwise (and Toews and Kane are here past the TDL) we have to assume they did not want to move. Plain and simple.

Interesting? Do we claim him if so - BetweenTheDots
If the Oil is truly interested in a Blackhawk or two, Puljujärvi is a perfect add to the deal to eat some space.
But if they are NOT interested in a Hawek trade, definitely I claim him. he has played with gamers, and is young and we can afford another gamble. |

1. Shut Kane down (if injured)
2. Get the surgery (if needed)
3. Resign him for 3-5 years
4. Play him on Bedard's right wing |

Can’t imagine the worst defensive winger in the league who doesn’t score anymore would have much of a market. Especially at $10M |

Chychrun is going to cost a lot both his salary and what a team surrenders for his service. I surmise that while he seemingly would fit really well in Edmonton speed and skill attack, the Oil do not have what it takes to acquire the most sought after dman.
I choose to keep McCabe over Murphy and C Jones. J Johnson could go, too. However, it remains too soon, too early to thrust too many kids into high NHL usage on the blueline. Although I wish to see what Roos and Mitchell can do/will they make progress in their development.
I foresee Johnson and either McCabe or Murphy moved. |

Put Marchand on the Hawks and he wouldn’t score much either. Happy 17 seconds. |

A change of scenery may do the trick for Puljujarvi who brings some tools to the table including size and a high motor which makes him a bit versatile for a coach. Seems if any coach can figure out and utilize Puljujarvi BrindAmour can.
But IMO the Canes are close. Is it time to make a move to get em over the top or nibble around the edges with a Puljujarvi type? ....... I know the cap is always an impediment but what would your dream scenario add(s) be at the TDL?
Also, how has DeHaan been as a Cane this yr? I always thought properly slotted he has some solid value.

I expected the Hawks to take him back in any trade with Edmonton.
He could be a roster-filler next season, another 1 year @ $3 million per type of forward. He'd be a bottom-6 forward for sure, his value would be in helping the Hawks get to the cap floor. - DarthKane
As I posted a change of scenery may do the trick for Puljujarvi. Maybe in the Lafferty mold? Assuming Kane and Toews are gone next yr, and who knows who else, a legit NHLer would be welcome and needed.
Not unreasonable to hope Puljujarvi clicks with the Hawks, he has value next yr and with a reasonable cap hit can be moved at the 2024 TDL.
Tolvanen as a waiver wire pick up has really clicked with SEA. Last game I saw he was skating with Gourde and firing the puck at will. So far the change of scenery has been great for the former 1st rd pick. |

Are you talking the 17 seconds that the Blackhawks scored on Boston in 2013 in the last minute of play to win the Stanley Cup on Boston ice? |
